Funny Boy

Ok so I hope I can explain this to make it some across as funny as it is. Cooper loves to be silly, he really always has and he has started being a bit of a joker! He loves to look at books with pictures of animals or shapes and lately he will point to one of the animals and say, "is that a cup?" then say "noooo" and I say "no it's a -" and say whatever it really is and he just laughs and laughs and he'll say it about everything on the page. I have no idea why he asks if something is a cup but it's pretty funny, his little personality it just too silly he keeps me laughing all day.

2 1/2

I went up to visit my family a couple of weeks ago for my little brother Alex's highschool graduation. Cooper had SO much fun! He wanted to play outside ALL DAY. My parent's yard is like an acre compared to our tiny one and is filled with beautiful green grass, any child's dream. My dad's camera is much nicer than mine so I like to take Cooper's milestone pictures with that one so I took some 2 1/2 year pictures, my little Cooper is getting so big! It's amazing how much older he looks now than last year. His little double chin and chubby little baby face have grown into handsome little features. His cousin Kennedy was very helpful to tickle him between shots so he would smile!

Happy Father's Day!

We sure love our daddy! We were so lucky to have him home for 3 days this weekend, we really love having him home.
On Saturday we drove up to part of Zion's National park it was such a beautiful drive and the weather was perfect. On the way we stopped at this little shop with all kinds of "arizona-ish" stuff it was so fun I felt like I was a little kid again. They even had a little petting zoo Cooper just loved it!

So we finally made it up to the lake, our destination, and Cooper was so excited to run around and look at all the bugs and flowers and all the stuff in the water. The weather was perfect, a slight breeze and sunny but not hot.

So on Sunday we made some yummy bbq and had smores for dessert. I got Craig a 6 pack of pepsi, he was thrilled, this is not a regular occurance in our house! I also framed a picture of him and little Coop. It was such a great day!

The House

So I know it's been 3 months since we moved in I finally got pictures taken! And since most of the people reading this blog will most likely never visit this house I figured I'd better share!
This is our master bedroom it's a pretty good size and hold all we need it to.

This is my sweet Cooper showing you his room. I've more recently changed the curtains to some short striped ones that look much better.

And here's Cooper again showing off his cute bathroom. It does have quite a bit of storage in the vanity which is nice.

This is the living area, it's half the size we're used to and we do have to have all the toys out, but it's still nice and sunny which is great.
This is the dining room one of my favorite places it's so sunny.
This is the entry with the stairs.

We probably won't be here more than a year because it is seriously lacking in storage and I'm sure with another baby we will need a bit more space but we really like the area. Our ward has been really great and its really nice to be a 2 minute drive from Craig's work and the grocery store. I just need to buy a curtain rod and baby Hayden's room will be complete so pictures of that will be coming soon!

Stay at home mommy

Since Craig got his new job and we moved to Cedar City I've been very blessed to quit working and stay at home full time! It has been such an amazing blessing for me and our family. I absolutely love being able to stay home with my little Cooper all day every day and not have to worry about anyone else's schedule but my own.
Some of the things I've most enjoyed doing is cleaning and organizing, sewing with the new sewing machine I got for my birthday, and cooking and baking! I have started making all the bread for our family. We have become very spoiled with homemade bread and have been known to eat an entire loaf of fresh bread in 24 hours. It is just so delicious! I've also started making hamburger buns (I use the recipe here and half the ingredients to make 12 buns) and all kinds of dessert breads. I think one of my favorite things to make though is tortillas, you would be surprised at how simple and satisfying these are!
My mom got me the Our Best Bites cook book for mothers day and I've loved dreaming over all the things to make in there. I'm trying my first recipe tonight, baked chicken taquitos, they look delicious!

So some of my favorite recipe sites are
http://www.ourbestbites.com/
http://www.dealstomeals.blogspot.com/
http://www.melskitchencafe.com/
I like to save all my recipes that I want to try or the ones I use often at http://www.recipenut.com/ you can also see what other people are saving on the site to get even more recipes.
I'm the kind of person who likes to change things up most of the time and have old favorites only once in a while, so I love finding budget friendly healthy and delicious meals and collect as many as I can.
Last night I made Poor Man's Strogonoff and this will definately be one of our family's new favorite dinners.
I did alter it a bit though I added 1 1/2 slices of cooked bacon that I had left from another recipe instead to eliminate a lot of the fat and eliminated the mushrooms since Craig doesn't like them. It was so good and Craig and I agree was even better today reheated for lunch!

I'll be posting pictures of Hayden's room soon to show off some of my new sewing skills!

sleepy head

Ok so I know in my last post I said Cooper gave up naps, well I guess I was wrong. . .

He was just sitting on the couch at like 4:30 and his little eyes were getting all pink and watery so I had him lay down on the pillows and he was out like a light. He slept for 2 hours! So I guess we'll just take it day to day, sometimes he just needs a nap!
