Try try again

Ella has been trying to master the monkey bars for years (and much to her dismay,  Rory has had them mastered since kindergarten). Yesterday she finally got it.  She said,  "I tried and I tried and this time I DIDN'T fail,  mom!"

Isn't that the best feeling? I love this girl.

The Haircut.

This boy has more hair than he or I know what to do with.  It is beautiful hair,  really,  but can get so bulky in the back.  I am really touchy about having it cut,  though,  because Hudson is not a short hair boy.  It honestly (at least to me) would be a travesty to have that magnificent shock of hair cut down to a buzz.

But,  it needed cut.  It was in his eyes and pretty much looked like a bucket on his head.  So we cut it at our neighborhood barbershop,  and I think he looks so handsome.

At first he was wary because it wasn't "rock and roll" and his "ears stuck out too much" but he quickly decided that it was okay.

Such a heart breaker,  right?

32 and a pinch to grow on.

Almost a month ago,  I turned 32.  It was much stranger than turning any other age,  even 30. Maybe it's because I am officially IN my thirties and not just teetering on the edge of them anymore.  It is a strange thing to get older,  it seems you never will but of course you do.  And it's not so bad,  I think my thirties will be a great decade.

I felt very loved on my birthday, by friends and my family,  but especially by my parents. It is a special day for our mothers,  too, when we have a birthday, I was reminded of that this year.  It goes with out saying it is a day that changed their lives forever!

One of my favorite things about my birthday this year was I got to go see the opening of an art exhibition for some of my old professors from ASU.  It was something that I used to do all the time,  but rarely do anymore,  so it was really nice.

I wonder what my 33rd year will bring!
