hazel turned three yesterday! we started the day with a breakfast of champions: annies mac and cheese followed by a chocolate cupcake and presents, a beard family tradition.
these days she is all about wearing her red and white pajamaâs and pirate bandana and being a bo-a ( boy). she went to school where it was pajama day in her honor.
her obsession with clothes and dicating what she will wear began with the leopard dress. it has extended to the doggie shirt and now the pajamaâs. unless the item could stand up on its own, i usually donât care and let her wear what she wants in the moment. there have been a couple of times when we are out in public and iâve noticed the state of things - messsy shirts with yogurt or noodles or whatever on them. oh well- as auntie britta says â dirty lil dirtly lil, sitting on top of garbage hill. never took a bath and never willâ . ( shel silverstein i think.)
we had a good day. her gifts were token as usual (- the real recognition is a donation to love without boundaries for a childs heart surgery in china.) but they were all pirate themed.
she has been very definate that she wants a pirate birthday party. not sure where she learned of pirates, but they are the current theme around here. so pirates it will be when we have a small party next weekend.
three, its hard to believe.
