its another girl!

daisy a 3 year old golden joined our family today. she is a sweetheart who was given to rescue when it was discovered she has wobblers syndrome and needed surgery. her surgery was successful and she is now recovered. she has some neuro deficits - mainly that she is clumsy and needs to wear a harness vs a leash due to instability in her neck. there is some therapy to do with her- similar to obedience training which we would be doing anyway to polish her up and help her bond to our family, but she should have a long healthy life.
we met her yesterday and the girls were so excited about her coming to be with us that they did not sleep well. i could hear them in there whispering until long after their normal bedtime. then first thing this morning it was all about daisy and when was she coming. i met norman, her foster parent to pick her up around noon so that i could have her before they got out of school. she rode beautifully in the car and waited patiently for me to get the girls. hazel was jumping up and down and squealing with delight when i told her daisy was here.
they were REALLY excited to have daisy sleep with them-so the three of them are curled up in the bottom bunk sleeping soundly after a lot of excitement.
