By Ourselves - Just the Two of Us

Thomas and Lily flew by themselves to Portland, OR for the first time.  They were so excited!!!  Lily kept telling everyone that "They were flying by themselves" then she would point to them and say "Just the two of us."  Like that needed clarifying.  It's just over a four hour flight and they did both did great.  I forgot the camera when they were going but here they are coming back from Grandma & Grandpa's!

Birthday without kids

Since the kids went to Portland for two weeks to stay with Grandma & Grandpa I was without them on my birthday.  Mama made me TWO cakes and we had a birthday dinner!  Cakes are a big deal in my family!  We always have angel food with butter icing.  Andy, Jackie & the twins, Daniel & Megan and Patricia all came.   The twins brought me my present and helped me open it!  They are getting so big!  It was a wonderful birthday.

Kentucky

The kids went to Portland for two weeks so Mama & I headed to Kentucky.  My Pa passed away this past February.  I wasn't able to come home for the funeral.  We went back to help clean out the house.  That is a big chore that was mostly done when we arrived.  We helped finish up and had a spontaneous garage sale.  My Pa was Mayor of Campbellsville for over 30 years so a lot of people came to the sale to pick up an item or two that was his.  It is amazing to me how quickly word spread of the sale.  Small town for you.  It was fabulous to see my family up there.  Aunt Nee is almost 90 now but looks great!  She came two days just to visit while we worked.  Aunt Terri and my mother are crazy together and were very entertaining!  Daniel drove up so that we could take some things home and I drove back from KY with him.   It was a great visit!

Twin Fun

The twins stayed with us at Grammylu's for the weekend.  The kids had a ball with them!!!  They loved playing with them!!!  The spent so much time outside with them.  The twins loved the car that use to be Thomas & Lily's and they had so much fun pushing them around.  They also roasted marshmallows with them in Papa's outside fireplace.  They all loved that!

Fun at Grammylu's

The kids always have a wonderful time at Grammylu & Papa's.  This trip was no exception.  They had a blast on the slip and slide and Grammylu's bath tub.  We also found a bike at the resale shop for Lily.  She LOVES it!!  We are still looking for one for Thomas.  The kids even went to the pool with Yaya (Becky Russell) one night.
