Dubai

We went to Dubai for a long weekend so Tom could run the Dubai Marathon!  It was a wonderful time and we look forward to visiting again. This weekend was centered around the marathon so there is a lot we want to see and do next time around.  Overall it is a beautiful, clean city with good drivers!!  

Dubai Aquarium

We spent some time at the Dubai Aquarium the day after the marathon.  We were looking for something close to us that didn't involve a lot of walking or time since we had a flight to catch.  The kids LOVED it!!

 

 

 

 

Ski Dubi

After the marathon we left Tom in the hotel to sleep.  The kids and I went over to Ski Dubai.  It is an indoor ski resort complete with chair lifts and a mountain.  We were hopeful the kids would be able to take ski lessons but they were sold out for the day.  Instead we just played on the bunny hills sledding, tobogging and so forth.  Everyone had a great time!  You have to love how they make a ski resort in the middle of the desert!

Tom's Marathon

Tom has been training for a marathon.  He wanted to run one before he turned 40 which happens in March.  Over the Christmas break he injured his hip and hasn't really run more than about four miles a day since.  He was still determined to run though. Our doctor here gave him pain killers and anti-inflammatory's so he could.  He did fantastic!  He finished in 3:59:26 for 26.2 miles or 42 km.  We are so proud of him!!
