Lily has been learning about balance and motion in school.  She came home with a crude top from school.  Tom decided they should make a wooden one.  She took it to school the next morning and the teacher was so impressed he sent Lily around to all the other second grade classrooms to show it off.   Lily LOVED it!!  

Shamal Hell

The road trip home from Abu Dhabi was horrible.  We drove through a shamal (sand storm).  It is like trying to drive through a blizzard.  Visibility was nothing.  It was a nerve wracking trip home.  Once home we looked at the car which had been sand blasted for eight hours.  My license plate is white.  All lettering is gone.  The windshield looks like sea glass, the paint has been taken off in spots. It was insane. 

Nothing to stop your heart like a herd of camels crossing the highway in the middle of a shamal!

Abu Dhabi Fun

We spent our three day weekend in Abu Dhabi.  We took the kids to Ferrari World and Yas Waterworld.  It was a fun weekend.  We stayed on Yas Island which is where those two parks are located so it was an easy relaxing weekend.

Roller Coaster Junkies

Tom has turned my kids into roller coaster fanatics.  They rode the water coaster at Yas Waterworld at least five different times.  They had a blast on it!

Flow Rider

They had a flow rider at the park.  Both kids had to give it a try.  They had fun but decided they weren't very good.  

Yas Waterworld

For our second day in Abu Dhabi we took the kids to Yas Waterworld.  It is a big water park.  We all had a great time.  We had a rough start to the day since the first ride we went on broke with us on it.  We got stuck on the family tube ride way up.  They had us get off and go down some tiny spiral staircase.  After that we decided to stay away from that ride and just enjoyed the rest of the park.
