Somewhere along the way...

I missed posting some of these pictures!  Here is Zach and his crazy friend in the lake...it might not seem crazy, but if you felt how cold the water is right now, you'd recognize their insanity!

Zach's 7th grade band concert.

This might not seem exciting to anyone else, but while I was on my 2 weeks of bed rest, all of my plants came in!  Welcome back landscaping!!

Progress and deja vu

Here is some of the progression of my right leg.  This starts after I got the cast off and was officially off of bedrest...

To the steri strips being off...

And finally until the scabbing was gone and now we are just left with the scar.  It still has a long way to go to be healed, but it's come a long way.

And then...deja vu.  Serious deja vu.

A wonderful trip

Robyn sent me this picture of her kids getting their eyes on the Mall of America.  It's quite a thing to take in!  The Bunkalls left Duluth on Friday afternoon and headed to the cities and then stayed the night there and picked up Cannon from EFY the next morning.

We had a wonderful visit.  I wasn't sure what I would be able to do and how much walking around I had in me, but we made it work and Robyn was very flexible and the visit was perfect.  We love the Bunkalls!

Two very different days

On Thursday Greg and I got up early and drove to Rochester for my 4 week follow up appointment and pre-surgical appointment at the Mayo Clinic.  He was stretching in the room and making me laugh really hard!

Not the most limber man in the world.

After the appointment we were headed to lunch and stopped in to look at a few pairs of glasses.  Greg liked this pair...we didn't buy them, but we did write down the information!

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Robyn had all of the kids and was continuing the Duluth adventures!  She took all of the kids to Spirit Mountain for the day.  They rode the timber twister (over and over), zip lined, played mini golf, ate pop-tarts and then had pizza and watched a movie that night...can you say dream day for the kids???

Greg and I had some time before we were headed to our friend's house for the night, so we caught a movie - while I was still off of bed rest!  The theater had these awesome seats...full recliners...I was in heaven!

Look at those kids having a blast!

Greg and I went to the Brewer's house that night and headed to bed as early as I can - so we could get up early and be ready for surgery at 6:30 the next morning.

Robyn made the day so fun for the kids and did me a huge favor by keeping them while Greg and I were at Mayo.  With the movie, lunch and a little shopping, we had a great day too...very different, but still great.

A rite of passage

Look who can sit in the front seat now!

Think he was excited?  Oh yeah!!!

Happy Birthday Zach!!!

We had a wonderful day celebrating Zach's birthday with the Bunkalls!  Here we are at Culvers eating lunch!  We went home after and let the kids play for a while.  When Greg got home from work, we headed back out to keep celebrating...

Off to do some rock climbing!

After a lot of climbing, the kids went out front and starting climbing this wall for time.  I can't even imagine how many times they climbed it...over and over again!  Just working on beating their times over and over and over!

Everyone made it to the top and rang the bell!  For some of them, it was the highest they had ever been...they were awesome.

Look at these cute climbers!

But if you want to know who rocked it with the best time...here she is!  Robyn climbed up that wall and blew the kids away...it was great!  Super mom!!

After a couple of hours, this is how the kids were looking!

One more big climb for Robyn and then we headed to dinner.

There is a Famous Dave's connected to the rock climbing facility, so it was the perfect place to go.

Zach had a hankering for ribs too!

After coming home, we opened presents!

The Bunkalls knew exactly what to get Zach...legos!!

Zach giving Ava some love after opening her gift.

We knew what to get him too!

Ahhh...I love this kid!

Time for cake...

and for making a wish...
We had a wonderful day and it was extra special for Zach to spend it with the Bunkalls.  Happy happy 12th birthday Zach!!!
