Grumpy Cat, house projects and horses

We spent the day helping the Wise family with some house projects.  That is something that Greg and I really love.  The kids are always good to come along too.  Ava got a special treat when Bella told her that they were going to give the cat a bath.

Look at that grumpy cat face!!!  I laughed so hard!

Greg and I helped paint, hung 2 light fixtures, hung a board and some decorations in Bella's room, rearranged furniture and worked on refinishing the banister.  It was a full day of work with great friends!

Ava also got to go to Bella's horse back riding lesson with her.  She was in love.  It was a great day for everyone!

Ava's plate

Ava went to a birthday part and they each made a plate.  This is the one she designed.  I love the little pig on it!  The words say "#Bacon".  I'm not sure how the pig feels about the bacon, but I love it.

A letter from Ben Gore

We got this letter from Ben and I thought it was so cute.  I loved the bacon on the front.  Loved it!

Haircuts and Movies

The Williams girls all came back over on the last Saturday and it was haircut day at the Bacon's.  They really wanted to try giving hair cuts, so we let them!

It was pretty fun!

Afterward, we went to see Moana and then went to Red Robin for a late lunch.  It was a nice girl's afternoon out!

Party, Party, PARTY!

Karsen had her 16th birthday while their parents were in Israel.  All of the families that were watching their kids decided to get together and celebrate her birthday.

The William's kids.

There was quite a group!

After dinner, we had cake and ice cream.

And then - what party would be complete without some antics?  The girls did a funny, little dance routine with these crazy mannequin heads and that led to a 2 hour impromptu dance party!

Late that night, Karsen opened her presents.

It was fun that the girls could give her the gifts that they made for her.

I think she had a great birthday - we definitely had a great time celebrating with her.

Sick days

I did have a new experience while the girls were here.  I had sick days at home with Kathleen.  She got a really, really bad cold and had a fever for 4 days!  She was such a trooper and handled the situation really well.  Poor, little thing.

Crafting, crafting and more crafting!

These girls found my jewelry making stash!  The older William's girls came over too and crafted for a while.  Everyone had fun with the jewelry.

There was also time for some matching nails.

Here are some of the jewelry treasures that the girls made.

Beading and bracelet making.

My craft room was trashed!  It took me almost 2 hours one day to clean it all up and get everything sorted back out!

Cutting leaves for a welcome home present.

Painting.

It was just the place to be...craft room...all the time!

Here is the welcome home present that we made for their mom!

One last nail polish day.

We had no shortage of crafting, girl time, adventures and fun while the girls were with us.  Without any exaggeration, I am sure the girls spent over 40 hours in the craft room while they were here.  It was great.  Ava had so much fun with her adopted sisters - and so did we!

Piggy Back Rides

It started simple enough...

Greg was giving rides!

But then the tables turned!

And then Andrew decided he was going to try to jump while Greg was on his back...

He actually cleared the ground, but it was definitely not easy!  He is getting big though!!  Big enough to give his dad piggy back rides.

More clay creations

This is the stash of clay objects that the girls were making.  Ava made the violin...and I was really impressed by it.  Really impressed!

DJ CJ and smores

Christine had these little songs on her Kindle - kind of generic techno music - that she loved to play.  She brought it up over and over that she wanted to have a dance party and be the DJ.  Well, we know how to do a dance party!

Out came the disco lights and on went the music.  She wanted to be called DJ CJ.  Done!  That's about as happy as any 7 year old can get!

What party would be complete without a treat?  They had never made smores over the stove flame either...we had all kinds of new adventures while the girls were here.

It was a fun Saturday night at the Bacons!
