Happy Birthday Waylon!

Waylon is turning 1 today!!!!
I can not believe I have a one year old. This has been the best year of our lives and we are so happy to be celebrating this day with our son. We are so thankful to God for Waylon's health, safety and development over this past year. We are getting all ready for a monkey party this afternoon. I will post many more pictures but wanted to post a few this morning.
A birthday tradition I always had growing up that I wanted to start with Waylon was my parents would bring us a doughnut and balloon first thing in the morning on our birthday. They would both wake us up singing Happy Birthday. I loved this and could not wait to get up with Waylon this morning. Although, we did not get to wake him up he woke us up it was still so fun. He loved the balloon and he really loved his chocolate doughnut. We are looking forward to a very fun filled day and a day of Praise for this wonderful boy!

SANTA!!!!

I am so behind on blogging and I have so much to catch up on in a short amount of time. I did want to post our Santa pictures. We have gotten to see Santa a few times already this year and hope to see him a few more times. We went to breakfast with Santa and that was the first ever encounter. Waylon Loved him and loved his beard,,, he just kept staring at him he wanted to get his glasses so bad, it was good that Santa was quick on his feet..
We then got to go to MeeMee's house to meet the "real" Santa and Mrs.Claus. They came over before they went to another party. Santa allowed me to get several pictures with Waylon and was so sweet with him. We are so glad we will get to have our own personal Santa every year.
I LOVE Santa and I am so excited to get to share my love for Santa with Waylon. I know this year will probably be easy and I am hoping Waylon will feel the same about Santa every year as he has this year!

Robert Waylon is 11 Months Old!

Once again, I can not believe it... Where has the time gone...
Waylon is so amazing as always. He is walking everywhere and there is hardly any more crawling going on. He has also figured out to stand himself up from the ground so he does not have to crawl to something and pull up. It is so fun to see how in just a matter of days he can go from trying to mastering... I have always said he seems to be very physically advanced. He is really enjoying all the new decorations in the house from Christmas time. He is enjoying playing with all the Christmas balls and has now pulled all of them off "his reach" on the tree.
He still loves Izzy and is the first thing he ask for when he gets up from bed. He says Momma, Dada, Izzy, and Outside. It seems like he will try to repeat a lot of what we say but it is not real clear.
He laughs when he gets tickled and still smiles all the time.
He is a gibber gabbier,, always has something to say even though we don't know what it is.
He is now giving kisses, so sweet. We ask him to give us one and according to his mood we get a very slobbery kiss or a slap in the face...
He is still drinking about 6 bottles a day and eating 3 square meals, if he feels like it. He LOVES Mexican food, just like his parents. If I had Mexican take out every night he would weigh about 50 pounds because he just eats and eats...
He plays so good on his own,, He just wonders around the house getting into everything and exploring every thing he can get his hands on...
He loves books, trucks, and balls. He also loves anything that lights up or makes noise, but will play the most with Izzy's dog food or anything in a cabinet he is not supposed to get into...
He is so sweet and wonderful and we are so very thankful to God to get to be his Parents. We are loving this time of year and his age. ... I can not believe the next post will be about Waylon turning One!
God Bless you all!

Decorating the Tree!

The day after we got our tree we got to put all the decorations up on the tree and around the house. We had so much fun doing this with Waylon although all he wanted to do was eat the lights, balls and hooks....
I don't think I posted last year but Nathan is so good about putting up Christmas lights outside... So last January we received a call from our local City council telling us we had placed 3rd in the City light's decorating contest.... I was so proud of Nathan and we are shooting for first place this year... I will keep you posted....
I am so thankful to have a husband who cares as much about Christmas Spirit as I do and wants to go all out. It is something I am so thankful Waylon is going to inherit from his parents...
Nathan cant wait for the year that Waylon is old enough to help put up all the lights instead of eat them....
I will post pictures of the outside lights another day...
Merry Christmas and God Bless you all during this very fun time of year!

Waylons First Christmas Tree!

As I have said in the past every year Nathan and I go to a local Tree Farm and cut down our own Christmas Tree. We were so excited to get to have Waylon help us pick out the perfect tree this year. Despite Nathan and I envisioning Waylon walking around the tree farm, walking up to the most beautiful tree on the farm, the clouds open, light shines down and the angles sing on that one tree that was meant to be ours, we had a great time. Waylon was not as into it as I thought he would be. He did LOVE the tree bark that he found on the ground and that kept him occupied while Nathan and I found the tree that was just right. I always want the biggest tree in the lot and we got very close to that. Nathan ended up have to cut a foot off of it so that it would fit in our 10ft ceilings, so yes, it was a BIG tree.
We had a blast driving through the hill country, listening to Christmas music and getting to start a new tradition with Waylon and the new baby....

Waylons First Thanksgiving!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year! It made it a million times more special having Waylon here. We stayed here in south Texas and spent Thanksgiving Day with the Payne family. I got up early Thursday morning and made sausage balls and watched the Macy's Day Parade (one of my favorite things to do). We went over to Nathans uncles house and had a huge feast.... there was so much delicious food and we had leftovers all weekend. I was off most of the week and it was so wonderful to get to come home after Thanksgiving day and spend the rest of the weekend getting prepped for Christmas. Most every year we are traveling to Oklahoma and although we really missed getting to see all my side of the family it was so very relaxing to spend time at home with my boys.
Of course I did not get any family pictures of us on Waylon's first thanksgiving, I am heart broken about this but I did get a few of just him and his MeeMee and Granddad...

Robert Waylon is 10 Months Old!

WOW! What a crazy month it has been. Waylon turned 10 months old on Oct.29th and I am just now getting to post about it. So much is going on with him this month but the most important is that he is starting to walk. On Oct. 23rd Granna came to stay the night with us and he took his first several steps to her. From then on he has been taking more and more steps every day. He can almost get across the entire living room. He gets so excited and loves to laugh and be picked up when he get to us. He is letting go of the furniture to get from one place to the other. It is so much fun to see but also scary to know before too long he will be so mobile. We are so proud of this accomplishment. Waylon still has no teeth... Don't know when he is going to get them but we are waiting. He is eating almost everything now. He loves his fruit the most but loves to eat anything off our plate. He loves pickles and lemons, he does not even make a face when he eats them but is OCD about it. He is still saying Dada, Izzy and has started to say Momma... he is a jabber box a lot of the time. He is still so cuddly when he is napping or going to bed. I love to rock him and stare at him. This is the best part of my entire day I get to tell him how proud I am of him and how much I love him.. He has started to kinda giggle when I am trying to get him rocked to sleep. It is a sleepy giggle and I can not help but giggle back... he is so wonderful...He still has the sweetest personality and is so sweet to everyone. He will go to anyone and has not got the separation anxiety thing yet. He loves being around other kids and he is really starting to play with kids more. He still takes his pabby although we are trying to start to just give it to him at night or at nap time. He has a little curl in the back of his hair. It is so sweet..He still races to the back door every time he hears his Dad come in. Waylon and Nathan are starting to really play a lot on the floor. They play tackle football and just laugh so much...He loves is Dad more than anything in the world although Izzy is a very close second. I love to see how he is growing and learning so much every day. He is truly our Gift from God. We could not be prouder parents or more in love with this little man. God has been so good to us and we are so thankful!

More Halloween Pictures

My camera was not working really well so I did not get as many pictures as I would have liked. Izzy was a banana for Halloween her costume was really big and she would not keep it on. We got a few pictures but she did not do so well.

Waylons First Halloween!

We had a wonderful First Halloween with our little Monkey! On Friday night we wanted to do our 8th annual pumpkin carving contest so we let Waylon paint his pumpkin instead of use a knife (my idea)... and it did not go over as well as I had pictured. I got a craft pumpkin so we could have it every year to remember and some finger paint. Well the finger paint hardly showed up on the pumpkin and the first thing Waylon did after I put his hand in the paint was put the paint right in his mouth... for some reason he did not mind the taste because he kept doing it.... I had pictured this 10 month old baby painting his entire pumpkin orange and making eyes and noes and mouth but that is not how it works... go figure... He did a beautiful job and I will treasure that sweet pumpkin forever...
On Saturday morning we got up cooked a big breakfast and just hung out. Waylon took a two hour morning and afternoon nap, very unlike him... This is when Nathan and I got to carve our pumpkins,, Yes, Nathan won AGAIN! He is so good at carving pumpkins...We then went down to the park in our neighborhood and Nathan grilled hot dogs for all our friends. We had a pinata, fun deserts and a great hay ride.... Nathan and I decided to dress up as Monkey Wranglers,,, we did not have to buy anything and I just made name tags for us. It was cute and fun to get to kinda dressed up. We came back to the house to trick or treat at a few of our neighbors then pass out candy at our house. We had some friends over and Waylon stayed up till almost 10. He slept most of the day on Sunday, I think just recovering from the long weekend.
It was a wonderful first Halloween with our sweet monkey... We will always remember this one!

Happy Halloween!

I am so excited about today! I LOVE Halloween and have been waiting all month for this day... It is so much more fun now that we have a little one to dress up. We have a lot planned today. Carving pumpkins, Party at the Park, and Trick or Treating... I will post more tomorrow with the outcome of events. We have our little Monkey all ready with his banana in tow (the dog) but Mom and Dad are still trying to figure out what to be. Of course last min. we decide to dress up. We are either going to go with David Bechman and Posh Spice or Monkey Wranglers... Nathan really wants to be the Bechmans but I don't EVER remember seeing pictures of Posh Spice when she was 5 months prego and I don't think I could make it long trick or treating in 5inch heels... So I will post pictures of the final verdict... Hope you all have a fun day!
God Bless!

The Bikers

Here are some pictures of Nathan and his uncle Ronnie on the bike ride and the beautiful hill country... Yep, those are the mountains he road up... Nathan you are our hero.. Thank you for being an example to us by pushing yourself, having so much endurance, and perseveringly when you would like to take the shaggen wagon back to the finish line.... We are so proud of you.
