Robert Waylon is 15 Months Old!

WOW! I can not believe how time if flying... Seems like just yesterday he turned 1 and now it is 3 months later. He is not just doing a whole lot more these days. He looks so cute with all those teeth coming in.... He now has a big toothy smile, I love it. He loves to dance and spins himself around in circles until he can no longer stand,,, the funniest thing every. He is very funny, always making us laugh and smile. He has been throwing some temper tantrums and is testing us pretty good these days but over all he is still sweet as all get out. He still loves any woman and will go to just about anyone. He loves Prairie and wants to be close to her all the time. Now, instead of him taking her pabby and putting it in his mouth he wants to put it in hers. He loves on her all the time and has been licking the top of her head.... He LOVES to be outside and it has been so nice here we are getting to take advantage of that a lot. We are so in love with this little boy and he fills our hearts with so much joy and pride...
God is So Good to us!

Prairie Ann at 3 weeks Old!

Prairie just keeps getting bigger and bigger... I have not had a chance to get her weighed again but I am for sure she is getting to be a real chunk... She is so beautiful. I honestly can not stop looking at her and just getting all giddy because I have a baby girl.. She is so much fun. She really is just eating, sleeping and making dirty diapers really well. That is about it. She is starting to keep her eyes open more and more and we love to see those beautiful eyes. They are much lighter than Waylon's and I am SOOO hoping she has blue eyes and black hair, like my Dad! Waylon is still in love with her and she doesn't mind him crawling all over her. She is very patient and content. She is taking a pabby but not totally addicted to it yet like Waylon was at this age...
She is just wonderful and perfect in every way. We are so very blessed and thankful to God for our baby Prairie Girl!

My Beautiful Babies in the Bluebonnets!

A few days ago, one of my good friends and neighbors took us out to the most beautiful patch of bluebonnets I have ever seen. The farm land is owned by some of her friends and it was about 20 acers of solid bluebonnets. Not only was it bluebonnets but there were other wild flowers all mixed in. I never thought wild flowers had a smell but when there are that many the smell was wonderful! We really felt bad walking all over the field because we felt like we were going to crush them but there were way to many to even notice a few crushed ones...... It was one of the most amazing things I have seen. Even Nathan, who grew up in Texas, getting to enjoy the bluebonnets every year said he had never seen anything like it. .. Waylon had a great time running around and picking the flowers and not getting in trouble for it...Prairie slept the entire time (of course) and posed a bit for her pictures while in la la land...
Really, the pictures can not do it justice. I wish everyone could see how beautiful this creation of God is. I was so glad to get to go and take pictures of my babies there.... Hopefully this will be a yearly tradition...I LOVE Texas in the Spring!

Prairie Ann at 2 weeks old

Yes, I am a horrible mother. I wanted to post pictures of Prairie at each week for the first month and I got a little busy so I am playing catch up. Last Wednesday she turned two weeks old. We took her to get a check up and weighed and she is growing really fast. Last Friday she weighed 6lbs 8oz. So she has gained all of her baby weight plus a few oz back. I keep comparing her to Waylon and she is so much different. She eats a lot and poops a lot. I really never remember changing this many dirty diaper with Waylon but she is going through them like crazy. I think I may have to switch to the cheap diapers to save money... I am also contributing the fact that I am now back in my skinny jeans and only 5lbs away from my pre-prego weight to the fact that she is sucking the fat right off of me... no, I am not complaining at all it is just amazing that I was not in my skinny jeans with Waylon until he was 5 weeks old and I fit into the same jeans when she was just 5 days old. I really thought it would take longer with her although I did not gain any more weight with her than I did him but still just thought it would take longer to shed.... I guess it also helps that I am chasing him around a lot too.....whatever the case, I love it!
Prairie is the best baby ever... I know I said that about Waylon and I really did think he was a great baby but Prairie is a GREAT baby. She sleeps about 23 hours a day, no kidding... she sleeps so much we are thinking she may have a sleeping disorder... She wakes up to eat about every 4-5 hours and then goes right back to sleep. We all gather around her when her eyes are open because we do not get to see them that much... She is getting better and starting to stay awake a little more but she is still a marathon sleeper.... everyone who knows me says it is no sup rise she sleeps so much because I LOVE to sleep... The other day I ran the vacuum in her room while she was sleeping in her bed and she never moved. I had to check to make sure she was still breathing because I could not believe it. She sleeps though Waylon screaming and banging all his toys around. It is so nice that she does not have to have peace and quite to sleep because she would never be able to sleep. My Mom said I was the same way..
She only cries when she is hungry and it is just for a short time. She is still so tiny, still in preemie clothes... I went to get her Easter Dress at this really sweet baby boutique the other day and when I got it home it looked like Waylon could wear it, even though it is new born.... So I did find a preemie web site and got her a sweet dress from there for her to debut on her first Easter! I LOVE having a girl, I love putting bows in her hair and getting her all dressed up. It will be even more fun when she can fit in all her bigger clothes...
She is taking big girl baths now and is not real into them... she fell asleep the other night while she was getting a bath..., her umbilical cord fell off when she was just a week old. I was changing her diaper in the middle of the night and noticed it was off. I looked in her diaper and could not find it so just figured I would find it in the morning. Later in the night I felt something scraping my leg under the covers and when I reached down to get whatever it was it was her umbilical cord... Kinda gross but just one of those being a mom things and things you think you would never say...
It took Waylon's almost 4 weeks to fall off so we were so surprised when she lost hers so quickly. She is sleeping in the moses basket by our bed and getting up every 4-5 hours to eat...
Waylon LOVES her... He has a hard time keeping his hands off of her. He loves to give her kisses this is where he lays his head on her... He is getting to be much sweeter with her and touching her more gently.... I love to see him love on her. I know they are going to grow up so close and be the best of friends... We are so very thankful Prairie has been such a great baby. Without her being so calm and cool I don't know how any of us would have made the transition so peacefully. We are so very thankful to God for this beautiful, sweet and peaceful baby girl...

Bitter-Very Sweetness

As you all know the Team Captain of our family has to also be the Team leader of a High School boys soccer team... Every year we start the season out the week after Thanksgiving and practice and games carry through spring break. I absolutely love being married to a coach. Ask my cousin Kimmie I told her I always wanted to marry a coach... There is nothing that melts my heart more besides seeing my husband with my kids than seeing my husband coaching kids on the sideline. I am very invested in every soccer season, sometimes to a fault but the past two years I have not been able to be as vested due to having our own kids. Waylon attended his first soccer game when he was 4 days old and Prairie attended her first game when she was 6 days old. Soccer season here in south Texas is a little chilly so we do sit in the car with these babies and cheer dad on. Waylon loves when we score because he gets to honk the horn.... We made most all of the games this year and although it was hard to mange two kids in the car it was worth it. Last year when Waylon was a tiny baby attending the games and my Mom said next year we will be chasing Waylon all over the field,,, little did we all know we would have another tiny one to have to keep up with as well. So this year my Mom said.. next year you are going to have two to chase all over the field... And I did vow to Nathan that I would do everything in my power to not have a child during soccer season again.... I was teasing my mom about how I used to see parents that had those backpack leashes for their kids and now I am trying to find if they make them with the split leash so that I can keep up with two... Ha! Just kidding, I really would never use that but it sure sounds like a great idea at times...
This year the soccer team did great. They placed 3rd in district and made the playoffs. We did lose the playoff game on Friday night but it was a great success to get there... I am so very proud of Nathan and what he does with these kids. He has to find ways to motivate, encourage and strengthen kids who really don't have it in themselves to do it alone. He takes kids that do not play year round elite soccer and helps them get to the playoffs. He takes kids that have never been part of a team and makes them feel like they are a huge asset to his program. He takes kids that would have been failing academically in school to making good grades so that they can still be a part of his program. He takes kids that do not have good role models in their life and sets an example of what a great man, leader, and father looks like. He has no idea what he is doing in the lives of these boys he is teaching and coaching every day. He looks at it as a really fun job. In everything that he has had to do with his team and his students he has had to do twice as much at home for us. The past two years durning soccer season we have had a baby. He has relied on little sleep, a lot of stress and an emotional wife... He has never complained about the lack of sleep, the amount of honey doo's I have for him, or the work load that he has on his shoulders.. He still comes home everyday in a great mood, willing to help out with whatever we need and still has the energy to play the rest of the night with Waylon....He is such and amazing person and we are so lucky to get to have him... I am so thankful to God every day for giving me this amazing man, giving my children this amazing father, and giving high school kids an amazing coach, teacher and role model....
So yes, it is bitter-VERY sweetness that soccer season is over.. it means that Dad now gets to be home at 4 and we get to play outside the rest of the day....

Can't Resist!

Sleeping Beauty, One Wild Little Boy, and The most Wonderful Mother Ever...

Robert Waylon is 14 Months!

I know I am way behind on posting this but want to make sure I still get a month to month update on my little man. Waylon is getting so big... He is VERY active to say the least. He sleeps very well at night, anywhere from 10-12 hours, takes 2 pretty good naps during the day and the rest of the day he is into EVERYTHING! It is so fun to watch how he is starting to figure out so many things, he is starting to really model a lot of things we do. He Loves to play chase with Dad, they will chase each other around for long periods of time. He loves to play with every and anything that are not his toys... he loves the broom, swiffer, mop and anything that has a cord for him to drag around. He loves to be outside. It is finally starting to get very nice here so we will be outside a lot... He loves to dance, anytime there is music that comes on the tv he will stop in his tracks and start dancing. I will have to post video because he gets all of his dance moves from his dad and it is a VERY interesting dance....He gives great hugs and kisses. He loves Izzy and they are best friends, he loves playing with her. He will take her bear and they will chase after each other around the house. We are so thankful to have a dog that is so good with our kids.... He is still no that into tv at all. He will watch bits and pieces of Wonder Pets sometimes but would rather be on the floor running. He loves throwing stuff away or into other things. Several weeks back the phone was ringing and I could not find it until I heard the ring coming from the trash can. He has thrown a way a pair of shoes with out me knowing and the best one is when he put 2 diapers into his laundry basket. I washed an entire load without knowing and it was a HUGE MESS to say the least...
He has starting to bring us things he knows he is not supposed to put in his mouth, sometimes it is nothing but I think he likes the attention we give him from bringing us something...Waylon is still a very friendly boy. He smiles at everyone and will talk to them. He really favors women but will go to anyone. I love this about him. He has started this very funny finger shaking thing. I think his nanny shakes her finger at him when he is doing something he is not supposed to so now any time we get on to him he starts to shake his finger at us... It is almost too much to take and we just bust out laughing.. He LOVES his baths and is now starting to become a real swimmer. Nathan taught him how to lay on his back and float, now that is all he wants to do. He will throw himself backwards and Waller all around the tub... It is very funny to see but very scary so we have been putting an end to this. He is getting 8 teeth in all at once. He has two on top and bottom that are in pretty good but two more are coming in on both top and bottom. He has been drooling like crazy and been pretty fussy. I am hoping they all come in soon so we can get over this but they are taking forever.
He is doing very well with his new sister. He will come and love on her and give her a kiss. We are trying to practice soft touching but it is so hard for a little boy to touch softly....
I still get to rock him to sleep every night and at nap time. I love this very special, peaceful time we have together when I get to look into his eyes and tell him how much I love him and how proud I am of him. He is growing so fast, I don't know how much longer I will have for him to let me rock him so I am cherishing every day...
It is just amazing to us that 14 months ago Waylon was as tiny as Prairie... I honestly can not even believe it. I just sit and hold his hands and rub his feet thinking where did the time go. Changing their diapers, rocking them, and just dealing with each one of them every day really makes you want to treasure every second of time because it flies by so fast. We are so very thankful to have our wonderful Beautiful little boy. He is such a blessing in our lives and has changed us for the better every day...

Prairies First Photo Shoot

Yes, I have been dying to take pictures of this beautiful baby girl of ours... Nathan had soccer practice last night and I had both of our children at home by myself for the first time for a few hours... It was crazy to say the least but we are getting the hang of it. I was changing Prairie and Waylon was playing in her room, the lighting was perfect so I got a few shots of them... Enjoy!
Waylon is with the Nanny today. He was getting cabin fever being at home with his parents all day for several days so he went to her house to play. It is beautiful here this week, so we are planning on being outside a lot. Nathan has a soccer game tonight that we are all going to try to brave and go to. Thank God Granna is coming to help. I have about 8 orange and black bows for Prairie to wear and I am for certain she will only be wearing them to games so we need to attend as many as we can to get the use of those bows.... ha! She is still a wonderful baby. She sleeps so well, sleeping 4-5 hour stretches at night and I have to wake her to feed her. She is so peaceful and sweet. She dose not mind her big brother pulling and prodding on her. She is eating very well, it has made breast feeding a breeze. She still only has a few outfits that she can wear due to her size. She is growing though and an outfit that was huge on her in the hospital is fitting pretty good now. I am so ready for her to get to wear all the hundreds of cute outfit that she has. We are so in love with her. Nathan said last night he was really hoping she would look more homely and not as beautiful because he is so worried about those boys....He keeps saying how she is never going to get married, never going to date, he is getting his shot gun ready,, on and on... He is so proud of her and so in awe of her already... I have a feeling she will never hear the word "no" from him. Waylon is doing great despite the fact that he is cutting 5 teeth at once... He has been a bit clinging, wanting to get into the rocker with me while I am feeding her but as soon as I put him up with me he wants down to play so I think he is just needing to know he still has me.... It has been a challenge for me and wanting to give love to both of them all day. I do not know how parents of twins do it. We are all getting the hang of each other and it will be another week or so and will be old pros, or at least I hope so.
I can not thank God enough all day for my beautiful, healthy and sweet children. We are so very blessed and beaming with joy!
I still plan on posting the birth story, so stay tuned...

Princess Prairie has Arived!

She is HERE!!! We could not be more excited. She is wonderful, beautiful, sweet and so so tiny... We are so in love to say the least. She was born on March 3rd at 5:05 am. She weighed 6lbs and 5oz and was 19.3/4 long. I will post more about all the details later. For now we are all doing great. Waylon is a Great big brother, he loves giving her kisses. Nathan is the best dad in the world and my life would not be as great with out him. She is strong and healthy and perfect. She is a great baby and we are so so very thankful to God for the very special gift he has given us! Once again God really has outdone himself. We are so thankful!
