Blue Girl

Blue Girl is the deuteragonist of Melty Land Nightmare.

Appearance[]

Blue Girl has neck-length, blue hair. Her skin color is a pale blue, and she wears a shirt and skirt, both of which are the same color as her hair. All of this makes her contrast rather sharply in comparison to the Melty Land, the main location of Melty Land Nightmare.

In most official art, her skin is very pale instead of blue, her shirt is pale blue, and she wears a blue backpack.

Personality[]

Blue Girl has been stated to have a poor mental state, often being troubled with nightmares, nightmares that Melty consumes. Towards the end of Melty Land Nightmare, her mental state improves thanks to Melty. She also appears to not be able to remember her dreams very well, always forgetting about Melty whenever she awakens.

In the lyrics of Melty Land Nightmare, Melty describes her as innocent.

Story[]

Blue Girl had a poor mental state and was troubled by nightmares. Eventually, she dreamt of the Melty Land. She met Melty and they became close friends, with Melty consuming her nightmares along with providing emotional support. Due to Melty's support, her nightmares eventually lessened and then completely stopped, and Blue Girl stopped seeing the Melty Land. She most likely forgot about it, as she'd always forget about her time in the Melty Land when she awoke.

Relationships[]

Melty[]

Harumaki Gohan has described Blue Girl's relationship with Melty as co-dependent. Blue Girl depends on Melty for emotional support and relief from the stress of her waking life, and Melty depends on Blue Girl for her food source, as she feeds off of her nightmares.

The two of them have spent many nights alone together, and while Blue Girl always seems to forget about Melty after she wakes up, they are very close in the dream world. However, the more Melty supports Blue Girl, the less nightmares she has, which will eventually lead to Melty starving.

Tina[]

Blue Girl and Tina seem to have a complicated relationship. They are friends, but Blue Girl is extremely jealous of Tina due to her close friendship with Melty. This eventually overwhelmed Tina.

Dango[]

Dango is her neighbor, they greet each other when meeting.

Theories[]

Neo Dream Traveler[]

Blue Girl looks very similar to the character featured on the cover art of Neo Dream Traveler. This has lead some fans to speculate that she's the "Neo Dream Traveler" the album is named after.

Photon Girl[]

Blue Girl looks nearly identical to Photon Girl. They also have both forgotten times spent with their friends. This causes people to wonder if they are the same person.

Trivia[]

She looks similar to Lili, which lead some fans in the early days to speculate that they are the same person. It was later revealed in the Futari No Ketsuron live that the Melty Land exists in the same universe as Futari No, which means Lili and Blue Girl are not the same person.
