Daireijo

Daireijo (大令嬢), also spelled as Daireijou, is one of the main characters in Zero Talking.

Appearance[]

Daireijo is depicted as a young, but somewhat older (in comparison to other characters) looking woman. She has light yellow hair tied into two separate braids kept at the back of her head. Daireijo wears what appears to be a white dress, with a dark blue layer on top. She also wears a blue jewel on her head, kept there by a blue headband. Her eyes are unique in comparison to other Harumaki Gohan's characters, as her irises are the same color as her hair, but also have red pupils.

Personality[]

Dareijo appears to be quite emotive, she's often seen having some sort of facial expression other than neutrality. She also seems to be quite immature despite her status as royalty, as she's constantly seen childishly attempting to gain Dorothy's attention through means such as following her around, begging for her to look at her, and even dressing up in costumes. Despite this, Daireijo is not above taking charge of a situation whenever she deems it necessary, as seen towards the ending of Zero Talking's music video when she decides to turn off the lights of her palace and kiss Dorothy on her own accord.

Story[]

Dairejo appears to a princess, being taken care of by a myriad of small, doll-like maids. She's also childhood friends with Dorothy, but hasn't spoken to her in an unknown amount of time.

Relationships[]

Dorothy[]

Dorothy appears to be Daireijo's childhood friend. However, they have not spoken to one another in an unknown, but presumably lengthy, amount of time. Dairejo appears to have an immense attachment to Dorothy, spending the events of the music video for Zero Talking desperately attempting to gain her attention. This attachment appears to extend to full-on romantic feelings towards her, as Daireijo is seen kissing Dorothy towards the end, and it is implied that Dorothy reciprocates, seen from the suitcase of flowers she leaves behind.

It is often erroneously assumed that Daireijou and Dorothy are siblings, due to Zero Talking's lyrics using the word "sister." However, the term "sister" in this context is used as a Japanese slang term referring to lesbian couples^[1]. Harumaki Gohan has yet to elaborate on the exact relation (or lack thereof) of these two characters.

Daireijo's Maids[]

Daireijo's palace contains many small maids that resemble dolls. Presumably, these maids serve as Daireijo's caretakers. No specifics of this relationship are currently known.

Trivia[]

Daireijo is somewhat similar to Lili, as both of them are blonde and royalty. This is something that even Harumaki Gohan himself pointed out in a tweet.
