Lili (リリ / Riri) is the deuteragonist of Futari No, and the princess of the Northern Capital.

Appearance[]

Lili has pale skin and is slightly taller than Nana. She has long yellow hair with a blue bow, and she has blue eyes. In Reunion, she wears a white blouse⁽¹⁾ and dark blue skirt.

In Himitsu, she wears a white and blue princess gown with a tiara; however, this was changed to be white and gray in the art book for unknown reasons.

In Yakusoku, she wears a long, white dress.

Personality[]

Lili is described as a genius that can handle everything. At first, it seemed like she had less of a personality than Nana and was much less focused on reuniting, possibly having even forgotten about their promise, but it was revealed in her song that she represses her emotions and actually misses Nana as much as she misses her.

According to Lili’s Letter in Otogi no Gingadan. Lili thinks becoming Adult is an inevitable process, and she doesn’t care it anymore. She just wants to chase the whales on the grassland again. She also thinks Nana “think too much” and worries about her.

Lili's Family[]

There isn't much information about her family. All that is known is that she comes from a wealthy background.

Nana[]

Nana is Lili's closest friend. After they met at age 7, they were inseparable. The two of them would search for the answers to life's mysteries together.

Lili loved Nana so much, to the point where she felt that she would go mad. She considers that Nana's innocence was able to melt her "cold eyes", and that her blue hair was her innocence. The exact nature of their relationship has been left ambiguous.

Macaron[]

Macaron is Nana's cleaning robot which she has had since she was at least 7 years old. In the "Futari No Ketsuron" live, it's revealed that he's the reason why Lili and Nana met and became best friends.

Adults[]

Lili seems to have had more contact with adults in her life than Nana. In Yakusoku, shadows of adults can be seen moving around her house, suggesting that her family had adult servants. In one of the first pages of the art book, there is a crude drawing of a group of cloaked adults, with one of them holding a young Lili in one hand. This may imply that her family's relationship with the adults preceded her birth, and that her position in the monarchy was decided before she moved away in Yakusoku.

Lili's Letter[]

It’s still unknown when Lili wrote this letter. But it must be written after Himitsu since it mentions the incident.

Lili mentions the time she likes eating rice balls and watching the sea of clouds on the tall towers. She also says she came to the tall tower a long time. The rice balls are made by the kind old man who took care of her, but he said all the rice balls are same now, that makes Lili surprised.

Originally she wanted to send this letter to her best friend(Nana). But she gave up because Nana often thinks too much and that makes Lili nervous.

In the next paragraph Lili announced that it’s normal for people’s bodies to become lead. She doesn’t know whether Nana has become an adult, and she doen’t cre it anymore. She just wants to chase whales on the grassland again.

At the end, Lili said she also hides something from Nana, her blood flowed on the top of high tower was indeed deep blue.

Trivia[]

Her favorite food is Onigiri.
Her clothes in Yakusoku and Saikai have Japanese characters リリ (Riri/Lili), which represents her name. This is how fans knew her name before it was officially revealed in the album announcement.
She looks similar to Blue Girl from Melty Land Nightmare, which lead some fans in the early days to speculate that they are the same person. As more information about her was revealed, it became evident that the two of them are different characters.
- Fans that were more familiar with the artbook canon speculated that she's Tina - this is also false.
In her old design, she wore a yellow school uniform with white bow.
Harumaki Gohan has intentionally left the details of Lili's relationship with Nana ambiguous.
- Fans have speculated that Lili has romantic feelings for Nana because of the intensity of her attachment to her.
- Fan art of the two of them in wedding dresses was featured in the music video of If I Could Become a Comet - Acoustic Ver.
Lili seems to be extremely popular on the Blue Planet, where she's only referred to as "Her Majesty The Imperial Princess". She has an acrylic stand made of her, as well as her own weather forcast.
