Tomodachi (ともだち / 友達) is a sweet girl who is friends with Mikage. She is a minor character in Envy Phantom and the deuteragonist of Daisan no Shinzou.

Appearance[]

Tomodachi has long, light blue hair. Her skin is light blue and she has a black ring covering her eyes. She is shorter than Mikage.

She wears a school uniform consisting of a light blue blouse, dark blue blazer and skirt.

Personality[]

Tomodachi is a sweet and cheerful girl. She seems to be generous, giving Mikage a share of the ice cream she bought. Mikage's Phantom in the manga describes her as "An amalgamation of those three." likely referring to Spica, Yuuhi and Urara

Lore[]

There isn't much lore about her throughout the album, but she's heavily implied to be a phantom created by Mikage's Phantom based off and to replace Spica, Yuuhi and Urara.

Relationships[]

Mikage[]

They are friends, but don't seem to know each other very well and Mikage is a little awkward around her. She is very kind to Mikage, letting her be when she acts cold towards her .

Theories[]

Urara[]

Tomodachi looks extremely similar to Urara. This has led some fans to theorize that they are the same person. She could also be a phantom of Urara, in a similar fashion to the phantoms of Spica seen throughout Gen'ei AP - Empty Heart.

As of the release of the album, this has been disproven.

Wavy-haired Girl[]

She also looks extremely similar to Wavy-haired girl, leading some fans to theorize that Wavy-hair is an older version of her or an imaginary friend based on her.

This has neither been confirmed nor disproven by the manga or concert, so it's likely it will remain forever ambiguous.

Phantom[]

In Gen'ei AP-Empty Heart, the phantoms of Spica that Mikage made up have the same traits as Tomodachi, being a monochrome version of Spica with a black ring around her eyes. Additionally, she is characterized as being extremely kind to Mikage. Perhaps she is just Mikage's imaginary friend. She may also be a tulpa, since in The Third Heart, she is shown to be able to make decisions for herself and disagree with Mikage.

While this has not been confirmed, it's heavily implied she is a phantom, but rather than an imaginary friend, she's implied to have been created by Mikage's Phantom to be Mikage's friend.

Tomodachi is more like an updated version of Spica's Phantom. In the Gen'ei EP A5 booklet. Mikage's Phantom said the Tomodachi is "a combination of the broken three". And Tomodachi's appearance is like Urara, and her personality is more like Spica and Yuuhi. It may imply that she is a "combination" indeed.

Trivia[]

Her name isn't actually a name, but rather literally translates to "Friend".
In a few scenes of the MV, the black ring around her head appears to be gone.
Tomodachi may be invisible to everyone except Mikage, as Yuuhi and Urara do not acknowledge her presence.
Tomodachi is often excluded from drawings with many of Harumaki Gohan's characters together, even the 8th anniversary art. Even in art with only Envy Phantom characters, she is left out.
Tomodachi shows similarities to introjects in real-life plural systems, as she is directly based off of Spica, Yuuhi, and Urara.
