Mikage, what are you listening now?

——Spica
Spica (スピカ) is a major supporting character in Envy Phantom.

Appearance[]

Spica has short, fluffy, light green hair. Her skin is pale, and her eyes are light green with yellow hearts inside. She's slightly taller than Mikage at first but after the train scene in the manga she's noticeably taller than her and possibly Urara

She frequently wears a school uniform, which consists of a white blouse, a navy blue blazer and skirt, and a yellow ribbon.

In Hotaru Wa Inakatta, she wears a school PE uniform; consisting of a green jacket that has a stripe with lighter green, yellow cuffs, and a light green skirt.

Personality[]

Spica is a cheerful girl who is able to chat and get along with anyone, because of that she has many friends even outside of the ones we see. In contrast to her cheerful attitude, she tends to prefer indoor activities. She's so adaptable she gives an impression like she might wander off somewhere far away if you aren't watching, sometimes coming across as irresponsible.

Relationship[]

Mikage[]

She and Mikage are friends and she wants to get along with her, along with wanting to know more about her and seems to care about her a great deal.

Yuuhi[]

Spica and Yuuhi are good friends and get along relatively easily.

Urara[]

Spica and Urara are good friends and Spica thinks of her as cozy.

Theories[]

Dead Hint[]

During the MV, there are scenes that may refer to death; such as the fireflies, which symbolize an altered form of the soul, and the empty swing, which symbolizes deceased children and points to someone who is no longer alive and are missed. Then hallway symbolizes an unconscious passageway between death and life. This makes some fans theorize that the "Third Heart" staring at Mikage and Tomodachi is Spica.

Additionally, according to multiple sources, Spica is actually made up of two stars orbiting each other, and both are dwarf stars, meaning that they brighten near death. This fits with the firefly theme.

However, Mikage's name, while usually meaning "Shining Sea" (海影), or "Beautiful Light" when spelled as "御影" means "Divine Spirit/Spirit of the Dead," which could hint at Mikage being the "spirit."

As of the release of the album and the concert, this is disproven.

Trivia[]

  • According to the game, her favorite song is Mikage's Diary. This implies that Envy Phantom exists in the Envy Phantom universe, which is slightly concerning. Or Mikage's Diary was just playing at the end of the game as part of the soundtrack and Spica was referring to a different, unknown song.
  • While Spica's name (スピカ) is officially translated as Spica, it can also be translated as Supika, which was what she was originally referred to on the wiki before switching to Spica.
