Snowbird Tram
Suzanne and I took the kids up to Snowbird to ride the tram as part of our Salt Lake Connect Pass. With both our babies coming soon, and our pass expiring in September, we still have a few things to try. We loaded the carseats in a car and headed up the canyon.
Every morning Zoey asks me where we are going. I told her that today we were going up into the mountains and a "hike." We got up there are had about a 20 minute wait until the next tram ride up. The kids (and moms) enjoyed some snacks and the kids ran around. We got on the tram and we watched the resort disappear behind us. Zoey pointed at some "kids" hiking, they looked so small as we went up the mountain. Each bridge (there were 4) sent us swaying a bit but it wasn't too bad.
When we got to the top, it was 60 glorious degrees. It felt like heaven! We had a 20 minute wait until the tram went back down. They were doing construction up there and we were warned to keep a close eye on the littles. We took some photos and they looked around. We went to get another picture on the tram and Zoey stepped squarely on the gap between the tram and the platform and her foot and leg fell through. She started screaming and my heart about stopped. (You can see the photo of the gap below). Her foot was just little enough. I knelt down and fiddled and wiggled and it just wouldn't budge. I was starting to panic and she already was. I finally bent the sole of her shoe just enough to free her. It took me a while to calm down after. All that adrenaline made the 11,000 ft. elevation air not seem so thin.
The ride back down was a bit more crowded and I was glad to be back down. We ate lunch in the car on the way home and kept the kids awake so they'd take a nap. Both of Zoey's legs were a bit scratched up from her fall and she told everyone how she went on the tram and slipped and fell. I'm a safety freak of a mom who borders on helicopter and it was just a horrible wake up call to realize accidents can happen in the blink of an eye regardless of how "prepared" and vigilant I try to be. I'm so glad it wasn't anything worse.

36 Weeks **Baby #2**
Symptoms: Fingers are like sausages. I can't even wear my big, fake, pregnancy ring anymore. My feet are pretty good. They looked normal until I put on a pair of normal flats and they were tight so I know they're a bit swollen, but nothing like with Zoey. Still quite tired, can't eat as much and have bouts of nausea and dizziness.
My blood pressure continues to fluctuate. I had to have it checked 3 times at the doctor's office this past week before they let me go. I am also dilated to 1 cm and 25% effaced!! This is great news to me since I was 0 cm and 0% effaced at 37w5d when Zoey was induced. Glad things are progressing!
The slightly disturbing news is that baby is sunny-side up/posterior. He is head down but not facing the right direction. I'm praying REALLY hard he'll turn or it could make labor even harder than it is already. Some babies turn at the start of labor or before. If not, they can get stuck and result in a c-section; or their heads come out forehead first making their head seem a lot larger than it is (my babies tend to have large noggins on their own) and causes horrific back labor and LOTS of long pushing; or the doctor tries to put their fingers around the baby's head as it's crowing to turn them which they told me is quite unpleasant - since labor is super pleasant already. Prayers are appreciated!
Cravings: Ice cream maybe? I don't feel like eating much. Nothing sounds great.
Clothes: Same - maternity.
To Remember: They did an ultrasound my last appointment to check for baby head down. He is, luckily. You could see him with his fingers up by his mouth, not sure if he was sucking on them or not. You could also see his arm bones and a chubby little arm! Confirmed he is, indeed, a boy. The appointment went quite long since I came in not feeling great, then laying on my back cut off my circulation and I thought I was going to pass out. So we had to take a break. They were nice to print out some ultrasound pictures though, even though they are almost indecipherable.
To Do: Make sure the Pack n' Play fits in our room. Finish packing up my bag. Write some thank you notes.

35 Weeks **Baby #2**
Symptoms: Hands are swollen. My hips and belly ache and are sore. Physically exhausted, I really need a nap to make it through the day. Blood pressure continues to fluctuate. Still measuring a week and a half big. I had some of the worst heartburn I've had in my entire life the other night. I feel like I have a short fuse and get angry quite easily and that switches to tears even more easily. But overall, just so, so, tired. I'm really slowing down.Cravings: Strawberries and cream. Orange sherbet. A Coke.
Clothes: Maternity. Remember how I said the baby hated the support belt I found? Well, I figured out I was actually using a postpartum belt...no WONDER he hated it and was getting so squished. I just found the actual maternity belt and I feel like it's almost too late to even worry about it. Bummer.
To Remember: I overdid it this week. It's crunch time. I took Zoey swimming a couple of times.
I decided to take her to the Handcart Days parade. We only parked a couple blocks away but I had the diaper bag, a bag full of food, a drink tray, 2 metal folding chairs, her plastic chair and trying to herd her, I was nearly in tears by the time I arrived at our (sunny) spot. I was so grateful when Dallin showed up. I knew I needed to take care of her in the heat but knew I also needed to take care of myself. The parade was pretty lame and I set up a spot in the shade next to a building off the street. She didn't seem to love the parade too much either. It was also a late night to watch fireworks (2 nights in a row) but I was glad we just went up the hill and parked on the side of the road so we didn't have to fight traffic and got home super early. That night I crashed so hard. I haven't slept that soundly since I gave birth. I didn't even hear her scream out at 2:30 a.m. I have NEVER slept through her screaming. I vaguely remember Dallin saying something about screaming and apple juice but he was an angel and got up with her because I was delirious. I'm so bugged at people in our neighborhood who have insisted on doing loud fireworks until 11:30 p.m.
Zoey has decided that street fireworks scare her and she only likes the big ones far away so our 24th celebration got cut short a little too. I wasn't that sad about it after flying, burning, pieces of fireworks kept landing at our feet.
My sweet mother also came over and helped me go through my baby boxes and organized my storage room that was a disaster. I also got our new printer set up and downstairs cleaned up for the most part. Getting things crossed off the list!
To Do: Finish packing my bag. Make sure the baby's pack and play fits in our room or we need to figure something else out. Need to get my rocking chair cushions reupholstered. I also want to clean out the fridge and get it wiped down (along with the fridge in the garage). I'd love to get my file cabinet organized and things shredded but that's not imperative. I want to buy a baby book and also some crayons and a coloring book to relax me during labor.

34 Weeks **Baby #2**
Symptoms: Hands are swollen. Get some heartburn even though I'm on Prevacid. Baby must be getting bigger because movements are a little more subtle and not so crazy. It freaks me out most of the time and I try and make him move to make sure he's ok. I think he's starting to get into position. He must be growing because I'm ravenously hungry. Again. All. The. Time. Blood pressure, for the most part, has been behaving except last Sunday. I rested and it normalized.
Cravings: Nothing really. Maybe a good raspberry shake. Back to eating 1/2 a PB&J before bed to make it through. Sometimes I have to pop almonds in the middle of the night.
Clothes: I wore a normal shirt and it looked ridiculous because it was short but oh well. Kind of wanted some new maternity shirts but there is really no point. MAYBE I'll talk myself into ONE...
To Remember: Went into panic mode this week (not nesting) because I feel like there is a lot to do and I've just been in denial that I'm having a baby soon. It is just coming up so fast. Anxiety is getting harder to control with the baby getting bigger and resting a lot more. Ugh. I'm so ready and so not ready.
To Do: Pack my bag and make a list of last-minute things to grab and a list of phone numbers for the hospital (pediatrician, photo gal, etc.). Make a list of the things for Zoey's bag so my mother-in-law can grab what she needs when she comes to get Zoey when it's GO TIME. Figure out how I'm going to get to the hospital if Dallin is at work...
Spend a lot of quality time with Zoey as it's the last little while as just the two of us. It's been a little easier to do things now that it's not 100+ degrees outside but I tire easily.

Chik-fil-A Day
I had to take pictures of my cute little baby cow (horns compliments of Arbys a while back) and my cute husband as a cow. We had a nice meal at the park and Zoey got to play. She still asks me every once in a while if we're going to dress up like cows today.

33 Weeks **Baby #2**
Symptoms: Hands are a bit swollen so wedding ring has been safely tucked away. Monster fake ring has taken its place.
Blood pressure was great at the doctor's office this week. But have had some not so great ones during my home spot checks.
Stuffy nose is back with a vengeance. Been super emotional this week. I also got my very first legit red stretch mark coming out of one of my tumor incisions. That would explain the horrible sharp stabby pains I've been having there.
Cravings: Smores and a raspberry shake. We went camping in the Uintahs and both were satisfied there. I feel hungry all the time.
Clothing: Same. Got a new maternity shirt since all of mine were dirty or drying and my normal ones really don't fit anymore.
To Remember: Got pre-registered at the hospital while I was there for my appointment! Also, took a tour of the labor and delivery unit as I'll be at a different hospital this time around.
To Do: Start washing some baby clothes. Get the essentials out and organized. Make Zoey's and my hospital/overnight bag list. Get my calling squared away for when I'm not taking a newborn to church.

32 Weeks **Baby #2**
Symptoms: Had a bout with the back pain again. I have no idea what it is but maybe another trip to the chiropractor is in order. A blessing helped ease the pain where I could at least breathe.
Stuffy nose is back - think it's just fluids increasing.
Been waking up with charlie horses in my calves for the past couple weeks.
Been waking up with charlie horses in my calves for the past couple weeks.
Blood pressure continues to be all over the place. Trying to stay hydrated in this massive heat. Did you hear it was one of the hottest Junes EVER?!? And they anticipate the whole summer to be like that. Awesome. Just awesome. And I usually love the heat. But it's kept us indoors far too much and I'm worried we'll be stir-crazy come Winter!
Measuring about 10 days big.
Measuring about 10 days big.
Cravings: Nothing really. Just food.
Clothing: My regular shirts are getting too short so mostly maternity stuff. My toes were turing blue at the pool and my mom notices, guess my maternity swim bottoms were cutting off my circulation. Oops.
To Remember: Had the funniest conversation with a little girl at the 3rd of July celebration at Eaglewood. She was with her mom waiting in line for the potty, like myself. She was probably about 5 years old.
Little girl to me: Do you have a baby in there?
Me: Yes, I do.
Little girl: Why is it not coming out already?
Me: (giggle) Well, he's not quite cooked yet.
Little girl: My mom has tummy stripes. Mom, show them.
Mom of girl: No, that's ok honey. Most of these women have them and know what they look like.
Laughter!
To Do: Clean out fridge/freezer in garage in case breastfeeding works, I have a place to store extra milk.
Do some deep cleaning.
Go through some more baby boxes in the storage room.
Wash newborn clothes.
Doctor on Tuesday!
