Morning at the beach

Went to meet up with Valerie and her 2 boys Jimmy and Chris (also from Seremban, but lived in Seattle for the past 8 years, having recently moved down 6 months ago) at Carlsbad State Beach this morning. As we were towards the end of the beach, it was less crowded, just how I like it :) It was unexpectedly cold and very windy (and I was dressed in shorts :P). Bummed around playing with the kids and chatted with Valerie and her dad, before having lunch at KFC and joining them back for more chatter at their place in Carlsbad. Was good to meet up, . Till next time, hopefully with Suzanne and Hema too :)

Jungle Bell Nights @ San Diego Zoo

Joined Misato and Hannah-chan to check out the Jungle Bell Nights at the San Diego Zoo. We got there at about 4.30pm, it was pretty cold but so festive! Lots of lights and Xmas deco everywhere. We walked around for about 3 hours before heading off to get some dinner from Tofu House on Convoy. Fun night out with Hannah-chan :)

Balloons!

Checked out the annual Big Bay Balloon Parade with Misato and Hannah-chan this morning. This time it happened to be on a Wednesday instead of the usual Sunday, but yet, there was such a large crowd (they claim some 100,000 were there!). And weather was rather warm, cloudless blue skies. Some new balloons seen - Dr.Seuss Cat in the Hat, Mr.Astronaut and the orange hair Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls.
