Noruz - Persian New Year

Went to Crystal's Persian New Year 'Noruz' celebration. Haven't seen her about a year, and she cooked up a feast! Burst of colors and flavors from the rice, meat, veggies, fruits and sweets. Good to see everyone :)

Cardiff/Leucadia

Hung out with Kumaki-san, his wife Akiko and Kate in Cardiff - grabbed donuts and tea at the popular VG's Donuts, before heading to Leucadia beach on Grandview. Too bad I couldn't hang out for that long as I had another appointment back in RB after that. But it was nice to be at the beach (wished I wore shorts though)

Farewell Kumaki!

Kate chose Ballast Point Brewery, the latest hotspot brewery in San Diego in the unlikely location of industrial area in Miramar. Huge place with lots of parking (can be challenging on Friday though), lovely bar and dining patio area. Food is also good. Plus a ton of beer selections of course :)

Sad that Kumaki is leaving, it's been a great last 1 year working with him. He helped me so much after I moved to TV, but at the same time has become a good friend too. Very easy going, it was also fun hanging out outside work and can pretty much chat about anything. I am going to miss him very much :(

Revathi!

Happy to have managed to catch up with my high school senior by a year and fellow Melody Music school graduate - Revathi and her husband Arvi, kids Kanna and Sanjay who were in town for a very short spring break trip. Last saw them at their wedding in Vail, Co in June'14. We met up for dinner at Spike's Africa Fresh Fish Grill and Bar, on Broadway. Kanna was so nice to customize me a coaster, and Sanjay is hillarious wanting to visit my house so that I can cook him bak kut teh and steamboat/hotpot. Which kid asks for that? Anak cina..hahaha.

Awesome day for a hike with Jennifer, though it was quite warm. Started the trail by the golf course all the way to Broken Hill, down to the beach and back up, some 5 miles and 800ft descend and back up. Good exercise, before having a nice brunch at Poseidon by the beach in Del Mar.
