Car seat cover

One of my students mom made me a car seat cover. I love it and wanted to try making one. When my parents and Leslie were out a week or so ago my Mom helped me create one! We made this one for Heidi.
We sewed some small weights in the corners to help hold the cover down if it is windy.
Handle
Cute stitching
Finished!
Thanks for helping me Mom!

Apple Pie

This is what I came home to after my bike ride this afternoon!
Mike had been craving his moms apple pie, so he called her up and got the recipe...
...and then he started making it!
I figured I should document him making this pie to remind him how good he was...maybe he'll do it again in the future!

Think they'll fit?
Sure did!
...after he ate a couple :)
He's even having fun!

Ready for the oven
The A is for Apple :)
Mike, you are dubbed the pie maker in our home!
It was delicious!

Teacher Survival Kit

I guess she likes to block out the light
We felt that it was time to retire Red so we took him to the junk yard.
Mike drove him around as a work commuter car because he got excellent gas mileage. Red was a good car but he was starting to fall apart and need too many repairs. We put just over 18,000 miles on him in two years.
We put together a Teacher Survival Kit for the teacher who is taking my place.
(Thanks Mom, I got it from you)
Tonight was Back to School night so we went and dropped it off and visited for a while. She is going to have a big class again, 16 students in a Severe Special Ed class!!! That's one more than I had last year! CRAZY! She will do great though! She is awesome working with these students.
School starts tomorrow! But, I am very glad that I can stay home with Madison now!

We caught the moon on our way home

Where is Mike?

Yesterday Mike helped Jerry get a target set up around 975 yards away from his house, to shoot at. Mike rode the 4-wheeler down to Dan and Trudy’s land and then as far as he could up the side of a small hill.
Can you see him?
Then he got off and hiked the rest of the way. He had to go to the top of the hill, down the backside (which was steep) across the wash and up the next small mountain (which was very steep). Jerry watched his through his binoculars and they communicated with walkie talkies. Mike and I also talked on our ham radios.
There he is!

Jerry directed him to a particular rock and then Mike spray painted it with an orange center and then black around it.
Finished target
They had fun shooting at it and hit 4 out of their first 5 shots. Both of them got 2!

Love it when she puts herself to sleep in this!
Hi mom!

Sometimes she can't get her arm un-stuck, although she is doing much better
Would somebody please help me!?
Fine, then I'll cry!

Dinosaur Hike

Yesterday we went on a Dinosaur Trackway hike. The hike takes you into Red Fleet Reservoir. Follow the dinosaur tracks

The landscape around us was cool

Madi slept the whole time
This was our final destination. We had to look for the dinosaur tracks on this slab of rock.
This one was the easiest to find
and we found this guy
Most of the tracks were pretty hard to spot, like this one
