18 months!

Madison had her 18 month check up yesterday.

She weighs a whoppin' 17 lbs & 11 oz!
still in the 3rd percentile..
still wears lots of 12 month size clothes
She is 29 1/2 inches long
still in the 15th percentile...
Even though she is little, she's happy & healthy.

She loves to eat.

She loves to play outside.

She loves Mama cat and all animals
She says "cheese" when we take her pic.  It's getting hard to take her picture because she always runs over to the camera to see the pics.

She gets to go to nursery now.

Last Sunday she sang the Sacrament hymn, all 3 verses!
(Mike & I had a hard time singing because we were trying not to laugh...but it was sooo cute)

The other day Mike pointed to a picture of Jesus and asked her who it was, she answered "Jesus" right away

It's so cute to watch her fold her arms and bow her head for prayer

First ponytail!
Didn't last through nap time though

Madi loves her Daddy and will ask for him during the day.  As soon as Mike gets home from work she follows him all over.  She doesn't care about me anymore.  If I try to play with her sometimes she'll get mad and run to Mike.  If he goes outside for something, she runs to the door and starts crying for him.

She still LOVES books

She is saying more and more words each week (although they might be hard to pick up unless you're around her a lot), a few of them are:

mommy, daddy, grandpa, nana (for banana), apple, pear, Elmo, bear, birdy, cat, me (for meow), moo, baa, quack, duck, dog, truck, honk (she loves to honk the car horn), bee, ewww (as in yucky), hot, brrrr, no, eye, flag, bug, all done, poopy, bye, baby, fish, teeth, thank you, ball, sock, book, & pumpkin.

She signs:
all done, more, please, baby, sleep and milk
(although a couple are her own version of signing...but they're close)

She likes coloring and has colored on the deep freezer (luckily Mike got it off...although I have a feeling that won't be the only thing that gets scribbled on...)

She loves our family bear hug each night

She loves to give kisses

and she is quite excited to announce that she is going to be a
BIG SISTER!!!

Baby Janowicz #2 coming May 23!
Isn't baby Jano so cute!  You can see the head (top) and even the arms and legs!

Canning Applesauce & Pears

Yesterday Trudy helped me "can" applesauce and pears (yes it's canning, although we "can" in "jars," it's not called "jarring" - trying to get Mike used to the wording - haha :)  )

Here is part of the set-up.  She brought her cool victorio strainer down to send the apples through.

Sends the applesauce out one end and the peels, seeds, etc out the side

The applesauce came out pink (well it looks peachy in this pic)

Of course Madison had to help :)

She was good at it :)

After 8 hours we had: 7 quarts of pears, 11 quarts & 17 pints of applesauce (4 quarts were cinnamon applesauce)
Tomorrow she is coming again and we are canning apple pie filling and more grape juice!

Grandpa!

Here is Madison saying "Grandpa" & giving kisses to Grandpa Redmond.
She also had fun talking to Grandpa & Nana Janowicz on Skype a couple weeks ago and would point at them on the screen & give kisses.

She doesn't say "grandma" as often, but we're working on it :)
She does say "Nana" although she's usually referring to a banana  :)

She loves and misses all her Grandparents and Great Grandma's!!!

We've been Boo-ed!

We were "Boo-ed" last night!   I haven't been "boo-ed" since I lived at home in Magna!  They left us a big loaf of chocolate chip banana bread.  If this isn't going around in you area, get it started!  Check out http://beenbooed.com/ for the Boo-ed paper to print out!

This gave me an excuse to make some more cookies!  Now we've got to get goodies delivered to some neighbors!

I keep leaving things in reach for Madi.  "Yummy" things that is!  I had moved the cinnamon rolls to the edge so we'd have room for dinner, but forgot to scoot them back.

She quite thoroughly enjoyed licking the spatula.  Here is another cute movie of this cute girl :)  I love her jibber jabber!

I know, I know, I shouldn't even post this picture...makes my mouth water too...but they seemed liked the perfect thing to make on our snowy days (which thank goodness has melted!)

Speaking of the snowy days Madi wanted to try her snowsuit on again.  It pretty much still fits.  Although the poor thing can't move in it, haha :)

Big Brush Creek Cave

Mike has been wanting to find the Big Brush Creek Caves, so we finally went a couple weekends ago :)

It was a pretty drive to get there

The trail we took we quite steep.  Nice going down, but I wasn't looking forward to coming back up!
The cave is in the center of the pic, behind Mike.  Almost there.

Entrance to Big Brush Creek Cave
Looking out

We didn't go in too far...not prepared for that!  We just wanted to find it!

Looking down over the top

Climbing back up the steep hill!
We took an easier trail back to the car, not nearly as steep!  Playing in the dirt.

haha :)

Canning grape juice!!!

Grapes!

Although quite overgrown with weeds...

but since the deer didn't get to them....

I had Trudy teach me how to do homemade grape juice :)  I've always loved my Moms, so I was quite excited to make my own!

Concord grapes

1 cup of grapes

1/2 cup of sugar
Processing time....and walllaaah!  Canned grape juice!  Best stuff!!!

As I was pulling my last jars of grapes off the stove, Aunt Linda called and said she had tomatoes that needed to be used ( she was headed out of town...) so I said I would take them.

Threw them in some boiling water
Cooled 'em
Skinned 'em

Sent half through the blender to puree and diced the other half.  Made about 7 quarts of diced tomatoes to freeze!  Will be great to pull out and throw into taco soup or spaghetti sauce, etc...

She almost climbed up onto the chair

oh it's a bit out of order, but here are the 35 quarts of grape juice we canned!
