Mr. & Mrs. Ramsey-- 1 Year Later.....

Happy One Year Anniversary to Saunders and Jordan a little early. What a great couple-- and they are great friends to all they come in contact with-- love y'all. I am not going to be near a computer on the actual day so I thought I would send my wishes a few days early!

Oh the places you'll go................

Earlier in the year my family decided that instead of gifts at Christmas, we would take a trip. It would be somewhere that we could all agree on, and it must be somewhere that had fun things to do. Well, we decided that there would be no better way to spend time together as a family than skiing the slopes of a mountain, admiring the beauty of the earth, and sipping hot coco by a fire.

In the morning my parents, Bran, Josh, and I will head out bright and early at 5:00 am to head for the airport in route to Big Mountain, Montana. Each year between 7th grade and my freshman year of college I had the privilege of going to Big Mountain, right outside Whitefish, with my best friend Jessica and her family to snow ski. When I was in 10th grade, my family went there for Spring Break and the very first run on the first day, my Dad fell and broke his leg. He had surgery in the local hospital that afternoon, and spent the rest of the week in the hospital-- this trip will definitely be better!!

Josh has never skied before and it's been four years since I have--- so I ready to slip on the ole' boots, oil the skis and see how much is remembered. Ski school doesn't seem to interest Josh, so it appears that my brother and I will attempt to teach Josh how to ski. (Oh no-- that's a very scary thought.) Bran thinks he a semi-pro skier so he's quite the adventurous type. Anyone who has POSITIVE advice or thoughts for Josh, please remind him that it's fun that he's going to go great---- I love skiing and I want him to be excited about it too.
One reason I think Josh isn't excited is because we are going to miss the Liberty Bowl, first bowl game that Mississippi State has played in since............oh I can't remember the year-- but it's been a long time. He's not going to be able to watch his puppies play, and he isn't too thrilled. Hopefully there will be some establishment in the airport where he can catch parts of the game as we travel out west!!

Hope the remaining days of 2007 are great-- and have a Happy '08!! We will return to the South on Thursday, Jan, 3rd-- so check back then for updates on the trip!!

We Froze the Grinch......ICE

Each year the Gaylord Opryland creates a a village of ICE. This year, for the 50th anniversary of How The Grinch Stole Christmas, they froze the Grinch. 2 million pounds of ice were used to create a village of the Grinch and Who-Ville. The marketing for this is amazing-- and I am such a sucker for marketing ploys. Today we went to ICE and WOW was it cold. The building that ICE is in must be kept between 9 and 12 degrees to keep all of the ice frozen. We had such a great time and were glad to return to the car. When we walked into the 45 degree raining weather outside, it felt like a warm spring day. If you ever have the opportunity to go to ICE in future years, you should go. However, do not stand in line to ride the slide-- it's a let down according to Josh and Bran.......

Happy Birthday Dad!!

Today is a great day in the life of the world--
my father was born on this day.....
and oh how the world was changed........
Happy Birthday to my Dad!!

Party Pictures

After working all week to prepare for the party last night, it was a huge success. We had almost 50 people and everyone had a great time! Thanks to Josh who was a huge help! I took some pictures of the different set-ups and there are a few to note. The wine was served in an ice mold with cranberries and evergreen frozen in different layers. The petit fours (little square cakes with various things on top) were homemade by mom and me. I now know why 1 petit four costs $1.99. $2.00 for one of those little things sounds a bit steep-- but they are tons of work. Now that the parties are over, it's time to relax and enjoy the Christmas season. Both of my grandmothers and my brother arrived here yesterday and we couldn't be more excited that they are here. Even though this house and town aren't home, being with family is the most important part of the season. Tupelo will always be home and Bran and I are both a little bored (as you can tell from all my blog postings) but Christmas is all about spending time together. It's not very often that we are all together--- so I will enjoy it while I can.

My Little Man

For the last two weeks my parents so graciously allowed Slugger to stay with them while I:
- finished my last week of blocking in West Point
-started and fininshed packing my apartment
-moved everything out of my apartment
-spent time with Jordan in Collierville
-spent the weekend in Starkville with the Abrahams
AND....finished my (and some of Mom's) Christmas shopping.
I was so glad that they so willingly allowed him to spend two weeks with them, but I was very ready to see little guy. Saturday morning I woke up and I wanted to take him for a walk so bad. Needless to say, when I arrived in Columbia on Monday afternoon I was so glad to see him. Well he, on the other hand, was not glad to see me. I'm not sure if he was mad at me becuase I left him for so long, or if he was just having so much fun playing with Otto, but he did not want anything to do with me. I was a bit upset at first-- but then quickly realized that he is only a dog and he would come around. In the past few days he has finally decided to show me some attention-- he's back to himself. These are some precious pictures that I took yesterday-- one is him laying on Mom and she is holding his treat as he chews on it-- you can see her hand in the bottom of the picture. The others are of his favorite place, on top of a pillow-- he makes himself fit on any available size.

Cooking for Parties and Holiday Cheer!!

OH what a week it has been. The joys of this holiday season have filled the air and I have been very lucky to spend some time with my parents in Columbia, Tn. Although it is not "home", their new house is cozy and will be much more "homey" once my two grandmothers and my little brother arrive here!
This week Mom and I have been cooking, preparing for two parties we are hosting. One party was last night (Thursday), a 4 course sit-down meal for 15 people. The other will be an ornament shower tomorrow night for a couple, the bride-to-be works with my Dad. In the last 24 hours, Mom and I have cooked Chocolate peppermint ice cream cake, shrimp and grits, mushroom pie, triple layer cheese balls, crawfish quesadilia stuffing, and chocolate cups filled with peppermint mouse. The people at Kroger know us by name, we have been there more than 3 times in the last 2 days as well.

Josh arrived here in Columbia today about 3:00 and I was so glad to see him. He will stay until Sunday and then head to Starkville to spend Christmas with his parents, brothers, grandmother, and grandfather. We decided that we would spend one last Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with our respective families. This time in 6 months we will be married and having a blast at the reception!!! SOOO much to do in the next 6 months........

As the time rolls on and Christmas Day quickly approaches, I am so grateful to know that we can celebrate this time of Jesus' birth. May we all remember the reason for the season and be mindful of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his love for us all.

I'm sure that I will post again before the very special day..... but to all of you,

Merry Christmas!!!

A Night Out With The Girls!!

Girls night out was so much fun........... it started with a great dinner at Las
Margaritas and then continued at IV's and then ended at a friend's new house. It was great fun and it's always a treat to get to hang out with such great people- all at one time. It's a very rare occasion that we are all able to hang out together, in Tupelo, but when we are able to, I always have a fabulous time!!

Moving, Traveling, and Nursing

This has been a week full of driving to and fro. Sunday afternoon we packed all of my things in my apartment in Starkville and moved them to Tupelo. I am storing all of my things for now, until I can move them into "Josh's" house, in a climate control unit. Most things are in the unit but the majority of my clothes are in my car. Jase and Bran were gracious enough to loan us some man hours to load the large things-- right in the middle of studying for finals-- thanks you two!! Josh, Mom, and I got everything else packed up and the apartment cleaned. Monday afternoon I headed up to Collierville, Tn, to stay with Jordan while she was recuperating from her surgery. The top left photo is a picture of Jack, Jordan and Saunders' dog. He is so sweet and even climbed in the bed with me one night!! Jordan is well on her way to recovery and she is such a brave and strong individual. Keep getting better Jo-- I had a great time with you!!

Ornament Shower

Saturday was a great day!! Josh and I spent the day lunching and doing a little Christmas shopping in Jackson. My family had the "Murff Family Christmas" on Saturday afternoon and then Saturday night was our ornament shower at the North Bay Clubhouse in Madison. We had a great turn out with lots of family and friends from all different stages of our lives. We received many ornaments and other Christmas decorations----they are all beautiful. We are going to wait to put up a large Christmas tree and use the ornaments and decorations next year after we are married. My aunt and cousin truly out did themselves and everything was beautiful. The clubhouse was beautifully decorated, the food was great, and the fellowship was outstanding as well. Thank you Aunt Nancy and Kristen for all your hard work and the spectacular Ornament Shower!!

New Toy

Above you see my new toy. I have been wanting a "BIG" camera and I have been saving my money for a while. After this weekend in Columbia with Jordan and her BIG camera, I had to bite the bullet and make the purchase. I saw the difference in the photo quality of my point and shoot camera and her big camera. We went to Ritz Camera on Saturday and I found a package deal for a Nikon D40 with 2 lenses. I ordered it from B&H Camera on Sunday and it arrived at my Mom's house yesterday. I will get it from her this weekend and the next pictures I post will be taken with the new camera!!

This weekend Jordan and Saunders met Josh and I at my parent's house in Columbia, Tn. Friday night we had a great meal of steaks and enjoyed visiting! Saturday the girls headed out for shopping while the men stayed home (with Duke, Otto, Slugger, and Jack) to watch football. After fighting traffic for almost an hour, Mom, Nana, Jordan and I arrived at the Grand Ole Opry and saw the fabulous Rockette Christmas Spectacular. It was well worth the fight and when we returned to the house, there was a great surprise waiting. The men had been hard at work decorating Mom and Dad's house with 4 wreaths and some spot lights while we were away. It was a great weekend and I hope we can do it again soon!

Bulldog Victory, Christmas Decorations, and Home Improvements

We had a great weekend. It started off with a Bulldog victory over Ole Miss in the cold. Tailgaiting and cowbells ruled the day Friday. Saturday we were supposed to shoot our engagement photos for the second time, but it was cold and raining and the photographer decided it would be best to reschedule. We decided it would be best to wait until spring and hope for warm, sunny weather. Saturday afternoon while the guys were watching football, I got in the Christmas spirit and did a little decorating. Since Josh has 2 guys living with him right now and I won't have a permanent residence as of December 8th, I added a little Christmas cheer to Josh's house. The wreath and a sad 4 ft. tree were the only things we would allow me to do-- so I didn't push my luck. After the wreath was hung, we took a trip to Lowe's in search of a spotlight to highlight the wreath. Well, one thing leads to another and after we got it all set up and it was shining its very bright light into the front door windows, Josh decided that it was necessary to put some sort of shade on the window. Once again, back to Lowe's we went in search of a shade. They only had one that would work-- and it's not at all decorative. I'm trying desperately to put a little feminie touch on the bachelor pad I will call home in 7 short months.

Help!

I have been working to make my blog a little more visually appealing, but it's not working too well. I went and made a really cute header, but now I can't get it in the right place. If anyone has any blog customizing tips, please share them with me. I want the maroon "Josh & Morgan.... the wedding countdown" in the box to vanish-- but I can't get it to go away!! All you experienced bloggers please help!!

And the blogging begins.........

After much prodding from other bloggers, I have now joined the blogging world. With a little over 7 months until our wedding, I decided to start a blog to keep friends and family across the country updated.
