9 Months

  • Hattie has really grown and developed a TON in the last month.  When I look back at what she was doing at 8 months, and now that she’s nine months I feel like this is the greatest amount of development that has happened in a month’s time.  DSC_0103
  • She still has TWO teeth but that isn’t stopping her from eating lots of table foods.
  • She has been eating grits, oatmeal, pureed sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, green beans, peas, and beets.

  • She loves the puffs and yum teething biscuits.

  • She was 26.25 inches and 15 pounds at her 9 month checkup.

  • Even though she is eating lots of table foods, she still has a bottle in the morning, a small one around lunch, one after her afternoon nap, and then one at bed time.DSC_0100

  • Size 9 months clothes fit perfectly and she can wear some 12 months shirts if I roll up the sleeves.

  • This week we moved to size 3 diapers.  They seem HUGE but the size 2 were leaking at night and seems to be squeezing around her belly.

  • She is quite the drama queen.  When she’s tired she will lay her head on your shoulder and then throw her head back with all her might.  If you are not prepared it really catches you off guard.

  • Hattie loves to sing and talk and make noises. This month she has been scrunching up her face and blowing out of her nose.

  • She laughs out loud and get tickled when she makes noises.

  • The quilt on the floor is no more!  Now I just have to vaccuum every day because she is all over the floor.

  • She is ON THE MOVE.  Hattie crawls all over the place!

  • She has a toy that sings songs and lights up when you push the buttons and she LOVES it!  She will lay on the floor and play with it and be super content.

  • Smiling is still her favorite and every time she smiles tons of drool comes out of her mouth.

  • DSC_0110

  • If she doesn’t have a bib on, her clothes are soaking wet from drool.

  • She is sitting up on her own and is so proud!!  When she falls over she just kind of looks at you- but doesn’t cry, and then keeps playing.

BBB with Katie

A few weeks ago my friend from Mizzou, Katie and her husband Ryan were in Oxford for the Ole Miss vs. Mizzou football game.  We made plans to meet for brunch.  I was so excited because it’s been a few years since I’ve seen Katie, and I had never met her husband Ryan.  Well, BBB in Oxford is a wonderfully popular breakfast/brunch restaurant.  Especially the day after a home football game.  BAD. PLANNING. ON. OUR. BEHALF.

Let’s just say that we had PLENTY (2 hours) of waiting time and we were able to catch up on everything under the sun. DSC_0978

Katie- who is looking awesome at 20 weeks pregnant with twin boys- shout out to you sista.  Thanks for the visit.

Football Fun

We have had a wonderful Friday and Saturday!  Last night Warren Central played at Tupelo for the first round of the playoffs so we met some of our friends and took them to Old West!

Then this morning we got up and went to Starkville to hang out with family a bit before heading out to tailgate and root on the Bulldogs.

Today I got to feed this sweet boy a bottle!  He ate like a champ and then dozed off- that was a first for me too!  I kicked the chair back and enjoyed every minute of snuggling with this little miracle baby.

When it was time to head to the tailgate, I requested a family photo---- this is how Josh felt!
But after we tried a minute we finally got a decent one.
Then  we snapped this one with my parents-- Hattie was so serious-- and in serious need of a nap!

While Hattie napped at the tailgate, I FINALLY got my hands on precious Ryan Ramsey!!!  He snoozed the entire time, but he is so handsome.

Then Kelly came by to visit-- it was so good to see her and hug her neck.
Hattie and Charlie had so much fun playing on the blanket.  Charlie was so sweet to Hattie and shared his football with her.

I know that we will have lots of pictures of all of these babies together growing up.

Josh and I packed up before the game and headed home.  We were back home in time to watch the game on tv, in our pjs!

It's been a wonderful 24 hours!

November 4

Today I am thankful for awesome coworkers. Both schools that I have been a part of had amazing teachers who truly love their jobs.

With all the drama of common core and so many pressures each day, it's so nice to be able to let loose and have a little fun!!

Of course I can't leave out my Sherman peeps who taught me how to teach and love life each day as a kindergarten teacher.

Thank you Lord for knowing our path long before we ever do!

Giddy Meets his Great-Grandchildren

Today 4 of the Abraham children, 4 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren met in Oxford where we introduced Giddy to his two great-grandbabies.

Before Giddy arrived, Eden, Nicky,  Jay, and Susan loved on Hattie.DSC_0739DSC_0742DSC_0744DSC_0746

Then my favorite nephew arrived and I got to hold him a minute before all the others arrived.  I knew I better get a quick hold because I would be out of luck once everyone else arrived. DSC_0747We snapped a quick picture while we waited on Giddy to arrive.  DSC_0749Giddy arrived and had some conversations with Hattie and Caden. DSC_0753

And then……………………………… the photo opportunities began.  Poor Giddy was exhausted when we were finished taking all the pictures. DSC_0765DSC_0768DSC_0770DSC_0773DSC_0777DSC_0785DSC_0796Caden and Hattie had on coordinating pumpkin outfits, but as you can see, getting a picture of two 8 month old babies looking at the camera was nearly impossible today!

It was such a beautiful day outside we were going to try and get a family picture.  There were two dogs running around outside, and Hattie was much more interested in looking at the dogs than at the camera.DSC_0810

So…. Depp took one for the team and picked up Rhett and stood behind the camera.

We were able to get a semi-decent picture.  Hattie loves to stick out her tongue—so this was the best we got.DSC_0808Both babies were passed around all day and were sacked out just after lunch.  Susan and Jay were great sleeping baby holders.DSC_0820

After lunch we gathered in the living room and shared stories, and laughs.  It was such a wonderful day of love surrounded by family!!
