Drama Queen

Sadie has no doubt kept us on our toes since we got her.  Her favorite activity is still to chew to whatever she can get her mouth around- but electrical cords are no longer her favorite.DSC_0096-005Although she loves Slugger, Otto is her favorite playmate when he’s around.DSC_0105-005DSC_0109-005DSC_0114-005and Slugger thinks he needs to play referee when Otto and Sadie are playing, but then sometimes I end up breaking up rough play.DSC_0137-005DSC_0125-005This is how Anna feels about Sadie. Basically, Sadie is a drama queen and causes drama wherever she is!

Baby Bulldog

Yes friends, it’s true.  Josh and I will be adding to our family in March.

We wanted to wait until I was 12 weeks to share the news- and we wanted to wait until after Bran and Julie were married!

We were thinking that we would wait until later in the week, but Bran had the idea for us to tell when we got back to the hotel after the reception on the night of their wedding.

Mom made me this shirt to wear- and I put it on and went to “visit” with grandmothers, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Our parents and siblings knew around 8 weeks and had to keep a big fat secret for a month.51

Of course no one read the shirt immediately, so we had to direct their attention to it.  Shrieks, screams, and tears then followed!  All of these people were staying the same area so a party gathered in the hall (pj’s and all)- and someone suggested a picture.  I’m so glad they did!50

and then on Sunday I was awakened when I phone buzzed with a tweet.  Much later on--- I saw this….52

We are beyond thrilled, and have waited for this day for a long time!

Julie & Bran’s Wedding Weekend- Part 2

Saturday was the most beautiful day I can remember in months!  The temperature was in the mid 80’s in August, there were enough clouds in the sky to keep the sun from blaring down during pictures, but the sun shone brightly all at the same time!

Instead of having a traditional bridesmaid’s luncheon, Julie’s aunt and a family friend brought snacks and goodies to the salon where we were all getting our hair done.  This was the perfect way to spend the morning!DSC_0054-007DSC_0055-006It was quite a spread.DSC_0057-006Fruit TrayDSC_0058-007Veggies in a cup with ranch.DSC_0059-007

Everyone was so calm as the stylists worked their magic!DSC_0061-007

This was the best group of ladies! Here is our group shot once we were all finished.DSC_0071-007

Then it was time go head to the church and get dressed.DSC_0074-006

Everyone was dressed so we could help the bride---DSC_0075-007DSC_0076-005

and POOOOFFFFF- she’s a beautiful, radiant, calm, elegant bride!

The wedding ceremony was perfect- and then it was time to party- and party we did!  The band was wonderful and everyone danced blisters onto their feet.  My camera was left behind in the car- in a different town, so I have not one single picture of the reception!

Sadly, the only picture I have of baby brother is an iPhone picture with his bride- but it will have to do!  I can’t write an entire post about their wedding without a picture of the groom.49

As the bride and groom left the reception, we all held 24 inch sparklers- and it was the perfect way to end a beautiful weekend!!48

We wish Bran and Julie many, many, many years of happiness!

Bran & Julie’s Wedding Weekend- Part 1

On August 25 I was honored to stand beside my brother and his fiancÃĐ as they said “I DO”.

Friday night we rehearsed- the bride and groom were all smiles…DSC_0021-012

While the fathers of the bride and groom shared a laugh to make them smile.DSC_0023-011Once rehearsed, my parents hosted a delicious rehearsal dinner at the Flat Iron Grill in Jackson, Tn.DSC_0034-010DSC_0036-010DSC_0037-008DSC_0038-009

Bran and Julie have the sweetest group of friends who made toasts that brought chills and tears- but also many laughs.

After the rehearsal dinner, Aunt Nancy & Uncle Dan, Josh & I, Mom & Dad hosted a “POST TOAST” celebration in the banquet room of the Flat Iron.  We had a band and a slide show of Bran and Julie played.

10 Years

10 years after graduation….. we had our 10 year high school reunion.

Friday night Josh and I met Tracy, Kelly, Justin, Claire, Jeffrey, Lauren, and Will at Romie’s BBQ for dinner.  Then we strolled around the block to check out another gathering- but didn’t stay there long!DSC_0008-012

Saturday we hung out at the pool, but we all vetoed the cameras there- and then we met at Erin’s for dinner before the reunion at Park Heights.DSC_0017-010

This is the only picture I have from Saturday night, but we had a wonderful time catching up with classmates.
