8 Months

DSC_0687

  • Hattie officially has TWO teeth.  A picture of those two teeth--- that’s a whole different story.  If you try to look at the teeth she immediately sticks out her tongue so you can’t see the teeth.

  • She had her first sicky on her 8 month birthday! We spent the afternoon at the doctor with a blood draw, breathing treatment, and a shot of rhocephin.  It was a sad day, but she is feeling much better just the day after!

  • We went to the dr yesterday and she was 13.6 pounds and 24 1/5 inches long.

  • She has loves baby food and has tried the yoguart melts, sweet potoato and banana puffs.  It takes her a minute but she enjoys those after her mouth adjusts to the different texture.  She has a bottle in the morning, a small one around lunch, one after her afternoon nap, and then one at bed time.

  • Size 6 months clothes are getting a little snug, but the 9 month stuff is mostly a bit too long.

  • Still in size 2 diapers.  It appears those will fit for a while.

  • She has started poking out her bottom lip when she gets upset, then she cries.  DSC_0670

  • Hattie loves to sing and talk and make noises.

  • When she is sleepy she sings to herself and we call it the “sleepy song”.  We always know when she starts the sleepy song that it won’t be long before she’s out.

  • She laughs out loud and get tickled when she makes noises.

  • The exersaucer is still her favorite activity.  There is a huge quilt on the floor with all of her toys, and she will roll around on it and scoot to get what she wants for an hour without fussing. DSC_0679

  • She has a toy that sings songs and lights up when you push the buttons and she LOVES it!  She will lay on the floor and play with it and be super content.

  • Smiling is still her favorite and every time she smiles tons of drool comes out of her mouth.

  • If she doesn’t have a bib on, her clothes are soaking wet from drool.

  • She is sitting up on her own and is so proud!!  When she falls over she just kind of looks at you- but doesn’t cry, and then keeps playing.

  • She is crawling, but it’s not a conventional crawl.  We call it the inch worm.DSC_0695  She scoots her legs under her like she’s going to craw then stretches all the way out and does it again.  It gets her where she wants to be- but those poor little knees are raw.

Hattie had to catch a quick nap on the way home after a full day of tailgating so she could play with Caden before bedtime.

Cousin Caden

This weekend we had a wonderful time with the Abrahams.  Hattie and Caden are finally starting to notice each other and interact.  Hattie was only interested in licking Caden—and he wasn’t too sure about it.

THS Homecoming Parade

Our school was walking in the homecoming parade and Hattie joined in the fun.  Josh made her a tiny Tupelo T at the store so she could be in the Tupelo spirit!DSC_0556Two of my sweet kiddos.DSC_0559DSC_0564
