We found out today that we will be moving to Whiteman AFB, Missouri in May! It was our first choice from our 6 (not so great) options so we are pleased! I am excited about getting back to the states and buying our first house!! I'll be sure to update you all whenever I know more.

Happy 5th Birthday Matthew!!
This past Monday, 2 February, was Matthew's 5th birthday. We had a little party for him last Saturday with his friends, both German and English, so that was new =) Matthew had to translate between his German friends and his American friends so that they could all play together. Suprisingly it went well. I had to take one of friends through the buffet line and I just pointed at stuff and she let me know what she wanted. I wish that I spoke better German =( When we did the pinata Matthew had to explain how you have to pull the string and then if you pull the right one the candy falls out. I wish that I would have had the video camera for that one. He did such a great job and I am so proud of him. He may not be able to write his name, but he is billingual. Here are some pictures from his party.

His friend Marielle made him this little collage. She also made him some window stickers and a bunch of pictures. It was so cute. She loves to make him pictures.

This is Matthew with his German girlfriends. The blonde is Tamara and the brunette is Marielle.

My friend Jessie had this brilliant idea about interviewing her kids on their birthday. Of course I had to copy so here is my little "interview" with Matthew.
Since I asked Matthew, Zachary wanted a turn too. Here is what he had to say....

Today I took the boys to the doctor. Matthew went in for his yearly physical and Zachary for an ear infection. Of course Matthew is off the charts with his height and he weighs almost 50 lbs.! What a big boy!! He is 3'9" and 48 lbs.

The doc took a look at Zachary's ears and I couldn't recall which ear was bothering him so I took a guess and went with the right one. Doc looked at his left one first and said that he had an infection in that one and then looked at the right one. On the right side he said that there was a huge piece of wax lodged in there. He tried to dig it out, but couldn't get it so he then got out the peroxide and poured that in his ear. He let it sit for a few mins while he looked at Matthew. Then it was time to drain it out and he still couldn't get it. So he got a syringe and squirted water into the ear. He did it 3 times and on the third time the ball of wax finally dislodged, but it turns out it wasn't wax. It was a popcorn seed! How it got into his ear I have no idea. I can't even recall the last time we had popcorn...maybe New Years?? I am thinking that when they were cleaning up their "parking garage" (playroom, but they named it the parking garage for some reason) yesterday they came accross the kernal and I guess Zachary felt the need to put it in his ear. Aiye! Boys!!!! Luckily it didn't do any damage and he just needs some ear drops for the next 4 days. Could have been a lot worse and I am so glad that I took him to the doctor for his ear infection ;)
