Pirinya's words made perfect sense.

Pirinya knew those glances.
But he couldn't back down.
“Mistakes must be corrected.”
That conviction drove his tongue.
Yet, night brought a heavy weight settling deep in his chest.
Lying in his bed, he murmured softly.

Wind rattled tiles in the distance.

第1話 ぴしゃりネコ
町の市場に、いつも耳に残る声があった。

声の主は、一匹のネコ――ピリニャー。
けれど誰もその名で呼ばない。
みんなからは“ぴしゃりネコ”と呼ばれていた。
ピリニャーの言葉は、筋が通っていた。
魚屋が氷を怠って鮮度を落とせば「管理が甘い」と叱り、
八百屋の秤が傾いていれば「不正をするな」と怒鳴る。
確かに彼は正しい。
だがその正しさは、まるで鋭い刃のように突き刺さり、
相手の心を容赦なく切りつけた。
「また始まった……」
市場の片隅で、誰かが小さくつぶやく。
ネコたちはわざと遠回りして、彼との距離をとる。
近づけば痛い。
だからみんな、避けるのだ。
ピリニャーはそんな視線を知っていた。
けれど、譲れなかった。
「間違いは正さなければならない」
その信念が、彼の舌を動かしていた。
しかし、夜になると胸の奥にずしりとした重みが残った。
寝床に横たわりながら、彼は小さく呟く。
「……俺は間違ったことを言ってはいない。
なのに、なぜこんなに苦しいんだ」
静かな夜。
遠くで風が瓦を鳴らす。
ぴしゃりと響いた自分の声が、頭の中で反響する。
鋭い正しさの余韻は、誇らしさではなく、
ひどく居心地の悪い孤独をもたらしていた。
それでも翌朝になれば、また市場に足を運ぶ。
「間違いは許せない」
その想いに突き動かされるように。
だが、彼はまだ知らなかった。
その怒りが相手を傷つけているだけでなく、
自分の心をも深く蝕んでいることを――。
