Typical Colors 2 has received many updates, which fix bugs and glitches, add new content such as weapons and cosmetics, and improve the game. Game updates are posted by FAKEAXIS, ExecutiveKrab, and Camouflage_Camper. The official update log can be viewed in the Official Typical Colors 2 Discord Server.

There are two different types of updates, major updates and patches:

  1. Major updates contain significant modifications and additions along with bug fixes, such as the UNVAULTED update.
  2. Patches are little updates which only fix bugs and glitches.

When a major update or significant patch is released, servers are shut down, and players are automatically teleported to new servers.

The current documented update is the June 10, 2026 patch.

The Wiki lists all updates since the August 17, 2017 patch, which was the release of the game under the "Rehaul" label. Additional updates are listed for the discontinued "CTE Server" , updates for Community Servers, and side gamemodes "Competitive", "Equally Randomized", "Experimental Test", "Medieval", "Randomizer", "Prop Hunt", "Team Deathmatch", and "Vs. Bosses".

  • Datamass:
    • Lowered the reactor sound.
    • Fixed duped health picks on mid.
    • Reduced eyestrain on some parts of the map.

  • Added default respawn times based on the team's captured control points to 5CP/3CP maps.

    • Shifted the last checkpoint away from RED spawn.

  • Custom maps can now import MaterialVariants. The custom material must be a descendant of a "Materials" folder in the main map structure.

  • Updated Mediguns:
    • Mediguns now incrementally increase their healing rate over five seconds instead of instantly setting the healing rate at 300%.
    • Mediguns can now "flash" players while Supercharge'd, keeping a second of Supercharge on them when taking the healing-beam off them.
      • Flashing multiple players penalizes the remaining Supercharge amount.
    • Supercharged players can now block the Payload cart.
  • Updated custom maps:
    • Destroyable Parts can now have a set amount of health, based on damage (currently only works with hitscan weapons).
    • Respawn Times can now be updated via Gamemode Events (e.g. capturing a checkpoint on Payload).
