Family Pics.

For those of you who don't know, both (yes BOTH) of my brothers are getting deployed in June.
My mom wanted some family pics before they leave, so over Christmas break we all tried to throw on something that matched and we called up Tanya to see if she would come snap some pictures of us.

The pictures turned out great; however, I am not too fond of them because I look chunky and pale. But we are going to get more after the baby gets here so hopefully I will look a little bit better by then.

So for now, just look past my chunky-paleness and see what a cute family we have :)

Las Vegas Bowl.

My parents bought the whole family tickets to watch the Utes play Boise State it the Las Vegas Bowl.

We were a little bit worried because of the rain, but lucky for us it cleared up just in time for the game.

Reggi hooked us up with some sweet tickets in the student section, right next to the band. And even though the Utes got creamed we still had a blast!

Boys 2 Men sang the National Anthem and right after the Air Force jets flew over the stadium.
It was really cool--it gave us all cold chills.

Jazz vs. Heat

For Ray's birthday I got him tickets to the Jazz vs. Heat game in Salt Lake.
(This was partly selfish because I kinda have a thing for Lebron James... well did)

We did a little bit of shopping, ate some yummy food at Chipotle, and then headed over to the game.

It was a really fun game. It stayed really close up until the 4th quarter, but the Jazz did end up losing. The crowd "booed" Lebron every time he got the ball, and Ray joined right in.

I've been on the verge of booting Lebron out of my favorite player spot ever since he started acting like a big baby -- seeing him in person didn't really help his case, as I thought it would. So let's just say that the boot has officially been made and Darren Williams has moved up to my number one spot.

Go Jazz!

Nineteen Weeks.

We had another ultrasound last Tuesday at 19 weeks. I love getting ultrasounds! It is so fun being able to take a peek at our little girl. It's only been 4 weeks since our last ultrasound, but it was crazy to see how much she's grown. This time was extra fun because she is starting to show her personality.
First, she made sure to let us know that everything was going great in there...

But when we tried to look at her face, she decided that she didn't want her picture taken and put both hands in front of her face. The lady doing the ultrasound was pushing and poking to try and get her to move them, but she would just swat at it.
She's gonna be a stubborn little thing :)

As for me...
I'm finally over my "morning sickness", or night sickness in my case.
I can kinda feel her move now. Not distinct kicks, but more of a stomach churning.
My hair is falling out by the buckets.
And even though I am scared to death of being a mom (I'm afraid I'm going to be horrible at it),
I get more excited every day for her to get here.

New Orleans.

This year for our annual "deer hunt girls trip" we went to New Orleans.
And no, we did not go for Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras is in February.
(That seemed to be everyone's response when we said we were going to New Orleans)

We learned a lot of cool stuff about the history of New Orleans and we got to see some of the damage that is still left behind from Katrina. And I only threw up 4 times! HA!

We stopped and ate at the cutest little place called "Mammy's Cupboard". As you can see, the restaurant is shaped like a lady and you walk into her skirt to eat. It is a little homestyle cookin' type of restaurant with a different special every day. Basically whatever Mammy is cooking is what you get.. But from what I hear, it is all delicious.

One of the days we drove to Natchez, Mississippi and stayed in the cutest little cottage owned by JoNell's friend Carol. She bought the house for $10 (seriously) and paid however much to get it moved right by her house. Then she fixed it up all by herself. And I mean literally all by herself. If she wanted to knock a wall down, she did it.. herself. If she wanted to build a wall, she did it... again by herself. I couldn't believe it. I want to be like that! It seriously looked like we stepped right into a pottery barn magazine. I got lots of pictures of all the little details (because I want to copy them) but I didn't get any of the cottage in general.

The cottage and her house sit right next to the Mississippi river, which is a stunner all by itself, but the view from her house was unbelievable. She gets to see this every night. I'm totally jealous. None of us wanted to leave.

While we were in Mississippi we also took some time to tour some of the old plantation homes. They were all beautiful, and they all had lots of history. At one of the homes they had turned the stables into a restaurant. We ate dinner there, but forgot to get dessert, and apparently that is the best part. So we went back the next day just for dessert!

We always have a lot of fun. I can't wait to find out where wer are going next year!

Michigan.

Ray and his brothers started a new tradition of going to a University of Michigan football game every year.
This year they went to the Michigan vs. Michigan State game.

They are spread out all over the country now, so it is fun for them to be able to spend some quality "guy" time together.

Tate Forcier and Denard Robinson warming up....
(Denard is my favorite player. He dominates!)

The guys....

Ray just informed me that this was the biggest crowd to ever watch a football game in the history of the world. 113,097 people were there. Wow!

Shout out.

This is a little late, but I just wanted to give a shout out to my fabulous, extremely hard working mom.

She was chosen as Realtor of the Year by the Iron County Board of Realtors.

Even though the real-estate market is in a slump right now, she is still kicking some serious trash!

Way to go mom! You totally deserve it!

(So if any of you are looking to buy or sell a home you know who to call)

Drumroll please...

We went in to get an ultrasound today and since I'm only 15 weeks I wasn't expecting anything at all,
but apparently I scan extremely well.
The ultrasound tech was thrilled. She couldn't believe how clear the pictures were she was getting.
Needless to say, the pictures were so clear that we were able to tell the gender and we are having a little baby girl.
Everyone we talked to seem to think that was the case. We didn't believe them because we both kinda wanted a boy.
Ray isn't quite as excited as I am, but he will get over it.
There is something special about the bond between a little girl and her dad, and I am so excited for him to experience that!

Now we just have to come up with a name. Any suggestions are welcome!

My Favorite Place.

Two weeks ago Ray went to Michigan with his brothers (pictures to come) and last weekend he played in a softball tournament in Salt Lake. I don't do very well staying at home by myself so I decided to head home and help my family bring our cows off of the mountain.

My absolute favorite place to be is on the mountain surrounded by family.
And the leaves were absolutely stunning... My goodness.
No wonder I love fall.
The only thing that could have made it more perfect is if Ray could have been there.

Anyways, I took a ton of pictures.
Here are some of my favorites.

This is my handsome little brother....

Ty and Brody...

 The Girls...

Ty-guy again... (Sweet picture huh? I have to give my mom credit for this one)

Me, My Dad, Casey...

Matching Shirts...

This is the view from the deck of our cabin. My grandpa loves this view. He always says how lucky we are to have something like this.
It is so true...

(If you look all the way across onto the other mountain you can see stout flat which is right by our other cabin. Pretty cool.)

Gorgeous!

Little bug.

We went to our second doctors appointment today and they did an ultrasound.
So stinkin' cool.
I kept saying that the whole pregnancy doesn't seem real.
For some reason being really sick and having my belly start to poke out wasn't enough...
But it definitely sunk in when we got to see the little bug on the monitor.
It looked so big but the doctor informed us that it is still only about an inch or two.
But you can definitely tell there is a little person growing in there... so fun!

I was about convinced that I was having twins because I swear my belly is poking out way more than it should be for 13 weeks. My mom said she didn't start to show until she was like 6 months. Ha! I wish!

Homesick.

I have barely even seen Ray since school started. When he's not studying, he's working.
It's starting to get pretty lonely.

And its really making miss all my people.

I'm really homesick....

But these gals are coming to visit next week so I just have to make it 'til then.

Can't wait to see you guys!!!

Bummer.

Ray has officially had to switch gears from this...

To this...

What a bummer.

This year of pharmacy school is looking like its going to pretty tough.
Of course, when I'm in school and have homework he never studies...
But now that I'm out of school and have no homework, he's ALWAYS studying.
Lame.

Seriously though, check out this book... it is HUGE!

Funny Lady.

We had one last hoorah at the lake to finish up our fabulous summer.
Ray's brother bought a boat and has been so nice to take us out whenever we are in town.

Ray's mom, Marie, came with us and she was cracking us up.
I was taking some random pictures when Annica flagged me down, pointed at Marie, and then at her eye. I was confused for a minute but when I finally figured it out I started laughing and snapped a picture. Marie seemed just as confused as I was so I showed her the picture and she just kind of giggled. I figured, at that point, that she knew what was going on and didn't really care to fix it. It wasn't until I asked her how it happened that she finally figured out what was going on. Oh, Marie.... We sure do love ya!

Needless to say we all got a pretty good laugh!
