Update.

We went to our first doctors appointment yesterday.
Didn't turn out quite like we had expected.

There was no heartbeat, and the baby only measured at 8 weeks and 1 day.
I was almost 10 weeks at that point.
So apparently the baby stopped developing a couple of weeks ago, my body just hadn't quite figured it out yet.

It's been pretty hard, but we really are doing okay. I'm not the first person to go through this, and I certainly won't be the last. There is nothing that could have been done to prevent this. This kind of thing just happens, and it happens a lot. So for now we are just squeezing Addie extra tight and hoping for more good news in the future!

Babies.

It's calving season, which means lots and lots of babies.
My dad has taken up a second job as a "midwife" to the cows. He and my brother take shifts going out to check on the cows. The even sleep out there most nights. And while they might be getting a little sick of it, Addie absolutely loves it! She asks to go see the cows every day. She loves getting really close to the calves but no matter how hard we try, she absolutely refuses to touch them.

Her OCD-ness shines through every time we go out as well. She gets pretty grossed out when the cows go "potty" and she has a pretty fluent stream of "ew ku kuhs" coming out of her mouth.
But even if it is a little dirty for her liking, she still loves to go out time and time again.
