Two Months.

Addie was officially two months old today.
She had her doctors appointment up in Poky last wednesday.
She had to get a bunch of shots and she took it like a champ! Only cried for like twenty seconds.

Two Month Stats:

Height:
22.75 inches
75th percentile

Weight:
10lbs. 4 oz.
37th (ish) percentile

Head Circumference:
39.4 cm
75th percentile

At two months she....

Smiles A LOT (but never when I have my camera)
Talks a lot.
Is a total momma's girl.
Still has really blue eyes (I don't think they are changing anytime soon)
Loves to lay on the floor and look at the lights.
Loves to look at anything bright.
Is not a very good eater. This is driving me nuts.
Loves her baths, but hates getting out.
Is sleeping a little better through the night. Only wakes up once.... sometimes.
Loves her bink. Especially with a little bit of water on it.
Loves to be moving. Driving, rocking, bouncing, strolling, etc.
Is starting to look more like her mom.
Is a really good baby and we love her to pieces!!

Storytime.

While we were in Cedar, Grandma Donna loved to read stories to Addie.
I'm pretty sure Addie loved it right back.

Hogsheaven.

My family went up to Hogsheaven this weekend and I didn't think I was going to be able to go. Addie was just to small, she doesn't sleep through the night so she would wake everyone up, etc. etc. etc.

But Ray didn't see it that way and unbeknownst to me, he made arrangements for us to sleep in my Aunt's cabin that is just down the road. Such a sweetheart. So we loaded up and met everyone up at Hogsheaven for Addie's very first time.

This was the debut of my dad's "dirty nerds".....

We found this cute little hummingbird sitting on it's nest....

We took a little drive out to the lookout...
(this is where Ray proposed)

And my dad tried to catch some fish for his pond.

But he couldn't get out far enough to get the big ones...

Updated.

I finally got time to update the blog.

And oh boy is it updated. There are probably 10 new posts. So don't stop when you hit the bottom because there are more on the next page.

I know you are all just jumping for joy....

CTR.

My Aunt Jo gave the boys a CTR ring to put on their dog tags.
This was so they can have the spirit right by their hearts while they are gone.
I love this!

ye are only in the service of your God."

Deployment.

Today we sent Brett, Casey, and Cabe off to Iraq.
I thought I had prepared myself mentally, but it was a lot harder than I ever could have imagined.
We all tried to make ourselves feel better by comparing it to sending a son off on a mission. We figured if they could do it, so could we. But as my mom pointed out, you don't have to pack a bullet proof vest when you go on a mission.
It really is a scary thing, but we know they will be alright. They have each other and lots of really great guys who've got their back. It is just hard having them gone. It feels so empty.
But however hard it is, we are so proud of them and the service they are giving to this country!

Pretty crazy that Addie won't see these guys again until she is walking...

A two-star general (pretty big deal) stopped by to let Brett know that "they turn into teenagers".
He thought Addie was his.

The Governor stopped by to say a few words.

"God bless you,
God bless the 222,
and God bless America!"

After lots of hug and tears, it was time for the boys to leave. Watching the planes fly off was by far the hardest part.

Brett went first, and Casey and Cabe went next.

We love them and miss them and are already counting down the days until they are back.

Breakfast.

We had a french toast breakfast in my parents backyard the morning of the boys deployment.

My dad was the chef, the weather was fabulous, the food was excellent, and it was nice spending time with our boys!

The Last Supper.

We took the boy's to Milt's friday before they were deployed.
As always it was good times, good food, and most importantly good people!
