Elly's daycare has Messy Day today, she was super excited to not comb her hair and where two different pairs of shoes. Look how tan she is, oh the good ol' days...I used to tan like this as well.

We knew we were pregnant a few weeks before vacation and this was just what the doctor ordered. After all the appointments, surgeries, etc. We needed this, like nothing else. We wish we could have stayed at the beach longer but a little someone got sand in a certain place and was done with beach day. Sigh. Such a rookie.

I normally don't post 2 times in one day, but since Big J is anxious to spill the beans and I am a little too:

Poof (nickname) at 6 weeks

We are all so excited. We've been trying for #2 for quite some time and feel so incredibly lucky that it finally happened for us. The details are long and agonizing and honestly sometimes it just doesn't feel real that this is really happening.

To my friends still struggling to conceive I know this news will make you sad and I send you a big hug! I have kept our struggle a secret on my own blog but with Big J's blessing I can come out of the infertility closet so to speak. I wish you all luck and send you all the baby dust I can muster. XO

To my friends and family who have been there for me from the beginning your love and support mean the world to me, thank you for letting me cry on your shoulders so many times. Thanks for letting me say, "This is the month!" and then a week or so later rage that it didn't work this time. I know I can count on you all through everything! XO

Disneyland

We had such a fun vacation! First off the list we went to Disney. It was a hot, hot, hot day in So Cal but we managed to grin and bear it.

D: Dad's name. Loren but he goes by Dale or Papa/Grandpa, or Dad.
E: Essential start to your day. Coffee. I’m beyond addicted, it’s quite sad. I’m trying to cut back as much as possible and drink more water.
F: Favorite color. You know I don’t think I really have one, I really like all of them. I guess I do wear more darker colors though. I dunno.
G: Gold or silver. I do like silver.
H: Height. 5'3". I think.
I: Instruments you play(ed). Flute and clarinet when in grade school.
J: Job title. Mommy, wife, sister, daughter.
K: Kids. Elly
L: Live. In Ohio but California will always be home.
M: Mom's name. Dovetta but she goes by Dovey, or Nana/Grammie, or Mom.
N: Nicknames. KK, Nina, Casey Lacey, Khaki, oh the list could go on for days.
O: Overnight hospital stays. When I had Elly. In the hospital from Thursday to Monday morning, I think. All the days/nights are all blurred together.
P: Pet peeves. Closed mindedness really irks me. Road raggers, please remember some of us have very special cargo in the back seat. I’m not saying I’m a saint either while on the road.
Q: Quote from a movie: “Well what are you waiting for?” “I don’t know something amazing I guess!” The Incredibles~ I know but I loooove that movie.

S: Siblings. Two older sisters, Monica and Candee, and a little brother, Brady.
T: Time you wake up. 4:40ish to 5:15ish…depending on how often I hit the snooze. Some day’s I spring up and other days, well I don’t.

V: Vegetables you don't like. Tomatoes, however sometimes I just pretend they’re not really there and eat them anyways.
W: What makes you run late. A 31 year old man and a 7 year old little girl. I’m always nagging at them, let’s go…come on, let’s go, hurry up!!
X: X-rays you've had. Oh dear, a lot.
Y: Yummy food you make. I think my food is amazing, I pretend I’m friggin Martha Stewart. I’ve been told I make good meat-less meat loaf and other veggie things like that.

Princess Elly Belly

Dress up is always in full swing at our house, and it wasn't a surprise when El's party came rolling around that the perfect dress I bought her would come off in 1.003 seconds and on would come the dress up dress. Awh well. I don't have permission from the other kids parents to put their kids pictures up so here is just us.


One of the fun things I had them do is decorate cupcakes, didn't go over too well, but they sure made a mess of the sprinkles.
