Sunday Jon participated in his first Olympic distance triathlon. He was nervous...but a good nervous. I always think that he does better when he's nervous.
First leg of the race is the swimming part...iy yi yi. 0.91 miles, doesn't sound much but when you are swimming...holy moly.
Whew, done!
Next the biking, 24.8 miles. He said it was hilly.
Then the running, 6.2 miles...piece of cake for marathon man.
Annnnnnd done!
Final time was around 2 hours and 45 mins.
So proud of him.
I know he was nervous, and his nerves rubbed off on me. I was so happy
to see him finish and gave him a big hug and kiss. Whew!
I love going to his races, but going to tri's is a whole different ballgame.
Finding a place to stand for three different events is rough.
I managed but I'm sure I annoyed a few people pushing Emmy around to get just in the right spot.
After the race we went to lunch, we celebrated Jon's finish and my birthday. Mmmm Mexican food, delish!
On to the next race...
