Our Christmas

I had to work just a tish on Christmas Eve, Jon was home with the girls but was down with the flu all week.  Ugh.  Still he made the best of it.
Sweet E&E on Christmas Eve.
The girls woke up on Christmas to a sugar filled Christmas breakfast from our Elf Peach.
Jon even wore a hat.
Presents!  Elly was a good girl and Santa gave her a new video game!
Santa gave Emmy a new train set.  She squealed!
Hope your Christmas was bright!

Ho Ho Ho!!!

Emmy's preschool had a visit from Santa last week, she was a little timid as you can tell.  When I got home, she ran up and showed me the picture and loudly exclaimed,
"I took a peekchure with the Ho Ho!"
It was so cute, I laughed and squeezed her tight.  So adorable!
Elly and I made this together, turned out perfect!
Merry Christmas!

Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson gave a speech the other night on the People's Magazine Award Show, I was so moved by it, I thought I'd share a snippet:

Natalie said that a role model is a person with a clear sense of what is important to her, putting forth the effort to improve, and creating things that will make a difference. Those are the principles that I live my life by. And what is important to me is to recognize that life is a journey with its ups and its downs, and its challenges and trials, and all the while we need to stay resilient and focused on your goals and your truth. So to burden ourselves with perfection is unrealistic, but the joy of living authentically and fearlessly is the life that I would like to live. If I can have an impact on one thing tonight, it’s for all young girls and women to give yourself the permission to honor who you are and more importantly, to learn who you are. To honor your aspirations and to be kind, and to be courageous, to take risks and to never let anyone ever push you around.

Putting forth the effort to improve.  If you let the marinate long enough and think about it...do you put effort to improve?  I know I could do a better job at improving myself.  Not talking just about weight loss, but about ones self.  Do you strive to improve yourself?  With the New Year approaching this may be my new goal for the year.

Creating things that will make a difference.  I've often talked to Jon about this.  My job is not ideal, I don't feel I make one bit of difference in the world in the line of work I'm in.  I've often thought about leaving to do something I truly love, but it's just not in the cards at the moment.  I do know I make a difference in my girls lives and I know they are just two little people but they are my world.  I just hope some day I can honestly make a difference.

I don't want to pick apart her speech but I just was so moved by it while flipping through channels that I got up and searched for it right away.  Wise words Kate!

E & E's Olaf Door

They did a great job.

Elly did the face and Emmy did the buttons (while eating a banana).

Emmy Lou

Our Emmy's little personality is sure shining through, we love hearing her talk in her language.  Like this picture she wanted to walk with her hands in her 'pawkits' and jumped on all the cracks in the road.
Not wanting to watch football, Jon set this up in her room.  Toy Story and Frozen for days.  Love her!

My Elly Belly

We had a fun day on Monday, we hung out and it was so nice to be with just her.  I'm hoping to do this more often.  I dropped Em off at daycare and we went shopping.

We make a cute pair eh?
The previous Wednesday, Jon and I surprised her for lunch at school.  She was so excited and it was pizza day.  SCORE!  I miss pizza.

Emmy Boo

This weekend was up and down, Em slept terrible on Saturday and was a grouch all day.  Makes for a great start to the weekend, let me tell you.  However we tried to make her smile.
Took her to a craft store where they had a large display of Frozen.
It worked.
Sleepy picture, but beautiful.  Her lips!  OMGoodness!

Being two and a half is rough  =)

Elly Belly--5th Grade

Oh Elly, how we love you so.  First quarter she made honor roll, she worked really hard.  Nana Joan treated her to ice cream.
Sometimes grocery shopping gets a little goofy.
Look at my big girl taking the rock wall on!  Go Elly!

Papa Ray

Papa Ray has been very sick, that dreaded "c" word caught him.
He is almost done with treatments.
Please say a prayer for him, the next several weeks will be excruciating.
We try to visit when he feels okay, the girls try to make him smile.
It always works.

Thanks for the prayers,

Halloween 2014

Our town celebrated Halloween on Sunday, which looking at the forecast I'm grateful.  It's supposed to be c-c-cold on Friday.
Elly went as Stampy or a orange cat.
Emmy, you guessed it, Minnie Mouse.
So adorable!
Elly was great and took Emmy up to each house.
Such a good big sister.
We love Erica, she ask every year what the girls favorite candy is, next year I'm going to tell her it's turnips.
She never disappoints.
So spoiled!
