This journal is primarily for slash - especially Riptide slash. This means m/m, homosexual relationships. If you do not wish to read about this, or are not over the age of consent in your country, please go no further. Otherwise, welcome to my story-book.
And come on over to pier56, our shiny Riptide squee-community. Come and find out all about the pretties, join the love in the land where we don't have to make the slash up because it is right there in the script. And on the screen. I'm not kidding.
I also post on other things as the mood takes me, especially about books I'm reading. If any of my interests also interest you, please feel free to friend me. I will almost certainly friend you back.
Well then, today was going really well until: * Car got towed... * Work is filled with the legions of the damned, and they all want me to do things * Real estate agents suck
However! oddmonster: if you're Kiwi and you know it clap your hands! Happy times!
It's Tax Day in the U.S., a day when the mind might be too occupied with deductions and long lines at the post office to think about poetry. But let's try: what's your favorite line of poetry? Song lyrics count.
This is a classic Australian poem, written around the turn of the century by Banjo (AB) Paterson, a mild-mannered clerk who went west (in Australia) around the time of one of the gold rushes. Instead of gold, he found the magic of the station (Australian/Kiwi for ranch) lifestyle, and wrote poetry about it.
This is perhaps his best known poem.
Some Kiwi/Aussie terms you'll require to understand the poem:
Station = Ranch Homestead = Ranchhouse Bushmen = Men who live in the bush, often ranchhands or cowboys Stockmen = Cowboys Ranges = Mountains Stock-horse = cowhorse Wombat = small Australian marsupial, sort of like a badger
A post with all my poetry on. I have posted it for myself rather than because I expect anyone to read it, but in case you want to, it's not locked. Go ahead, if you like :)
New here and interested in Riptide? Friend me, and come and join pier56. Can't wait to meet you!
My name is Tinx, and I've been in love with Nick and Cody's love story since the first airing of the Pilot, in 1984.
I am always writing Riptide. I ship Nick/Cody, but I have written other pairings/the threesome either for a good reason, (LOL - writing slash - do you need a reason? :D), for a prompt or by request.
Occasionally I write other things, too. There are, after all, more beautiful boys in the world, and from time to time, I look up from Nick & Cody long enough to notice them :)
All stories are NC17 unless stated otherwise. You should not be reading this journal unless you are of legal age in your country. Riptide Stories
You can find more Riptide stories on riptide_asylum, a shared journal where oddmonster and I post all the fic we've written in our shared universes. You can also find all my stories on AO3.
Oh, thank you! I'm good, at least as good as anybody can be in the U.S. right now with the pandemic... but my family and I are all staying safe and healthy and isolating, and I've been working from…

I *am* writing, I'm just *slow* right now! More coming xxx
I know this was a month ago that you posted this, but I'm still reading any Riptide I find at AO3, so more is always welcome.
