This journal is primarily for slash - especially Riptide slash. This means m/m, homosexual relationships. If you do not wish to read about this, or are not over the age of consent in your country, please go no further. Otherwise, welcome to my story-book.
And come on over to pier56, our shiny Riptide squee-community. Come and find out all about the pretties, join the love in the land where we don't have to make the slash up because it is right there in the script. And on the screen. I'm not kidding.
I also post on other things as the mood takes me, especially about books I'm reading. If any of my interests also interest you, please feel free to friend me. I will almost certainly friend you back.
Dearest f-list! Do any beloved friends of mine who fangirl The Sentinel know of a crossover fic (gen, I think) with Riptide?
I believe (although I may have imagined it, I'm good like that) I once read the beginning of a fic in which Nick returned from somewhere (Reserves? I'm not sure?) sick as a dog, and it turned out he was hypersensitive to everything - sound, light, touch.
Anyway, Cody remembered a guy in Vietnam who had had something similar happen to him and departed, yelling, I believe, for Murray, and if I did indeed read this, that's as far as I got.
Presumably, next would have introduced Blair and/or Jim.
And, like I said, writers_choice rocks. First of all, it was the very first comm I wrote a ficlet for, and in fact the very first weekly challenge I responded to in any comm, so I've always held it in affection.
Second of all, it's a great place to find delightful, tasty short fic (just like romankate's Show-Off).
And third, and the main reason I'm here rabbiting on about it, is that I post there any time I have anything for one of it's prompts and.... *fanfare*... For 2008, I'm 10th in their top ten contributors; and Riptide's 10th in their top ten fandoms! WHOO!
Anyhow, I just read the original, Fanfic Hospital itself. And seriously, it's a must read. 500 words, pre-slash, and the funniest thing I've seen for a long time.
And oddmonster: it's giving me ideas. I know you're not a Sentinel fan, but get over there and read it anyhow, please! *smooch*
Well, until last night I firmly believed that Riptide was the slashiest show (canonically) that would ever be made. It seems I was wrong.
I have watched my first episode of The Sentinel (It was Season 2, episode 1) and the slash is, if anything, even more obvious. I couldn't believe it.
I was sitting there with my mouth open, just WAITING for Jim and Blair to kiss in the kitchen.
Of course, this may be partly because I have started to watch the show because of reading the slash.... That might be symptomatic of some kind of problem, huh? I wonder if people have done any studies on whether slash (or gen I suppose) fan fiction actually increases show ratings?
LOL! Off to watch more.... or maybe to write more Riptide.... decisions, decisions!
I feel I would like to become a fan of this show... We don't have it on TV here *snarl*
Considering purchasing it on dvd... I keep liking what I read here about it *grin*
DVDs are probably not available here either... hmmm... HATE waiting for Amazon *grrr* *checks mailbox again* for still-not-here Riptide
Still waiting for Season 5 NCIS to start here too... I have NO eyecandy on TV at the moment, it is very sad!
*Update - went to DVD Warehouse at lunchtime, and sure enough, no Sentinel. (No Riptide either, but I knew that *sigh*) HOWEVER, I am now the proud owner of The Hardy Boys Season 2! Including my all-time fave h/c ep Sole Survivor! *bounces* And they had a special going so i also got 'Allo 'Allo, series 1 and 2.
So I am feeling smiley :) Even tho Shaun Cassidy is not really the eye-candy I was looking for there, he'll do. Never really got the Parker Stevenson thing.
Oh, thank you! I'm good, at least as good as anybody can be in the U.S. right now with the pandemic... but my family and I are all staying safe and healthy and isolating, and I've been working from…

I *am* writing, I'm just *slow* right now! More coming xxx
I know this was a month ago that you posted this, but I'm still reading any Riptide I find at AO3, so more is always welcome.
