Pit Stop at Chicago, then on our way to Tampa Bay

I am confident that the Twins will win against the White Sox on Tuesday. There's no reason "we" can't beat them in Chicago if we play with as much intensity as the last Chicago series (probably the best 3 games of the year). Here are my keys to the game:
  • Play with confidence like the last series against Chicago. Get into their heads...because they don't play well once we do.
  • Nick Blackburn (Joe Mauer look-a-like), please step it up. Same goes with bullpen.
  • Play small ball. The squeeze is always fun.
  • It's a good time for Justin Morneau to break out of his slump. He will.
  • Lets not let AJ Pierzynski beat us. He's a great 2 strike batter - hit him if we have to.
Note: I was also confident that the Tigers would beat the Sox today.

37 Mile Bike Ride

Last Sunday, we did the Minneapolis Bike Tour with Paul (college friend), Jeff (Chuck's friend), Chuck (college friend), Alicia, Julie, Rob and Steph. It was fun and took less than 24 hours to recover.

Here are some videos from the ride:

Homeless on 4th St in Minneapolis

At around 6:30 tonight, we exited on 4th St from 35W southbound and saw an interesting site...

There was a homeless man walking to his "standing" site (the usual spot). As he was crossing the street to his site, he stopped and grabbed his "Need Money, God Bless" sign from a pile of signs behind a yellow utility box! What we gathered is that there is a pile of signs across the street and the homeless use whatever sign they grab.

We used to think each homeless person wrote there own signs but this situation leads us to believe this isn't the case.

Note: This entry was not meant to offend the homeless - we just ran across an eye-opening situation.

We're Gonna Win Twins

As a Twins fan, the past few weeks have been pretty bad. We want the Twins to make it to the World Series but a few things, well a lot of things, must happen...here are just a few:
  • Gomez needs to step it up and play like a starting CF. Also Gardenhire has to trust him and not have rookie Pridie pinch hit (and therefore field) for Gomez late in the game. Play the guys that got to where you are.
  • Starting pitching needs to make it through at least the 7th inning (and not give up much runs late too). The bullpen isn't that good and losses through the bullpen are horrible to watch.
  • The bullpen needs to pitch better, way better...
  • Play small ball.
  • My husband is making me stop.
Here is a commercial that we've never seen before of Joe Mauer, kinda funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6prZdeldd-4&feature=related
