Pictures from December and Elijah "Hobbies"

On Dave's 32nd birthday.  Elijah is showing how his mood can change within seconds.

Happy birthday, Daddy!

The boys had a Christmas program at daycare.  It was cute.  In the second picture, can you find both boys?

The toddlers were angels and the infants were sheep.

 Our angel and sheep.

This guy is getting big - too fast.

Daddy carrying his "two boys" - as Elijah likes to say.

Elijah has a lot of "hobbies".  One hobby includes looking for birds out of the window, like an older person (or Elijah's dad).  In the first video, he pulled up a chair to the window to look for birds.  Dave pointed out a blue jay and Elijah was happy.

Another hobby includes watching football.  He gets so excited for football and will stop playing with toys to watch football if we turn on the TV.  Common phrases include "Oh no!", "Purple team" (Vikings), "fall down", "pushing" (tackling), "not nice" (referring to the tackling and pushing) and and colors of the teams (e.g. in this video the Vikings are playing the Packers so he refers to the Packers as the "Green team").

I think it's safe to say that Elijah takes after his dad's hobbies - watching football and looking for birds...

Christmas Break Board Games

Dave and I decided this break we would play lots of board games after the boys go to bed.  Why?  Because we used to play games all of the time before the boys.  We are keeping a running total and will share the final results!!  Yes, I do realize it's incredibly nerdy.

Merry Christmas!

This is the 2nd family picture we have.  The other one is when we were in the hospital after Nathaniel was born.

We hope everyone had a great day celebrating the birth of Jesus.  Elijah likes to call our Savior, "Jesus Benson" and sing "Happy Birthday, Jesus" - he can be such a sweet boy.

Homonyms and Pictures

A while ago (this is soooo one month ago but just getting to blog about it), Dave and I were talking about homonyms.  Then I started saying Elijah has a lot of homonyms and then Dave corrected me, "Ummm...those aren't homonymns, he's just mispronouncing them."  Here are some examples (his pronunciation has since improved since my initial intention of this post).

Actual word: fork
Elijah pronunciation: dork

Actual word: Nathaniel
Elijah pronunciation: Daniel

Actual word: flamingo
Elijah pronunciation: damingo

Actual word: funny
Elijah pronunciation: dunny

Actual words: I love you
Elijah pronunciation: I you (notice he's missing an important word)

Actual word: banana
Elijah pronunciation: bee-na

Actual word: snowplow
Elijah pronunciation: football

And now pictures from earlier this month:

We were going to take pictures of the boys so I changed Nathaniel into this outfit.  When Dave saw it, we couldn't stop laughing.

Nathaniel is supposed to have a shirt underneath.  I didn't realize there were not any buttons until after I put it on.

The boys love each other.

Elijah getting ready for a "big smile".

Watching mommy dance and sing.

Elijah still enjoys his chair.

I took two cars to put in the parking lot and then Elijah may have went a little overboard with the parking lot concept.

"Feet taste great." - Nathaniel

This picture reminds me of the picture on the bottom of this post.

Story of Nathaniel's life?

Kids

 Elijah loves to build!

Love this sweet boy.

Sleeping bald spot.

Studying the Toys R Us ad on Black Friday.

The boys with "cousin" Levi.  Elijah loves Levi and Nathaniel.

Bed time!

Elijah smiling at his brother (instead of the camera).  A lot of times, this is what his smile looks like when we ask him for a "big smile" - still.

But Elijah has a real, normal and nice smile.

The boys love to play with each other.

Nathaniel puts up with a lot.
