Oh My...Meet the Galaxy Girls

"Oh my goodness" was my reaction when my friend, Amy, texted me this picture of us. This was a picture of us from a Halloween dance in high school. Both Amy and I didn't want to go to the dance. Then last minute, we decided to go and look at the costume we chose. As you can probably tell, there was a lot of aluminum foil involved. We called ourselves "The Galaxy Girls" - two girls, working the streets of downtown Minneapolis, looking for money...hmmm.

And by "working", I mean playing our trumpets.

Weren't we cool? Am I wearing Umbros 3" above my belly button?

People I feel bad for: Josh, Callan, Dave and Elijah. You're stuck with us!!

Happy Boy!

We love it when Elijah's happy after a nap. The boy loves to throw his feet down and thump.

Elijah Smiling and Laughing

I'm really glad the videos work, so many great videos to share. Dad makes Elijah smile and laugh more than anyone else. As my mom puts it, Elijah adores his dad! I love baby giggles - too cute!!

Elijah's First Art Project

What?! At daycare, they made an art project instead of teaching math? Haha. Good job, buddy!

30 Rock: Jamaican Accent

This is an attempt to upload video on the blog. I have tons of cute Elijah videos but I'm not able to share because of the large file size. So my idea is to upload them on YouTube and embed them to the blog. Does anyone else have a better way of uploading video?

Here's a clip from the funniest show on TV, 30 Rock. I just chose a random clip so lets see if it works.

5 Months Old Today

Elijah is five months today. Boy, has he grown! Here are some remaining pictures from four months.

Highlights of 4 Months:
- Continues to enjoy play time.
- Started talking a lot more.
- Got sick with a cold and cough for the first time after Christmas. Followed up with an ear infection.
- Gently strokes me while nursing - too cute!
- Started daycare.
- Motions like he's chewing gum - too cute!

Changing tables are so funny.

Elijah tried rice cereal this month. Lets just say, he didn't not like it.

He's learned how to "chew gum".

Ignore me, focus on the cute boy.

Elijah appears to be very observant. Recently, he's started to scratch his head which makes him look intellectual.

Good Sleeper

Elijah is such a good sleeper. For this entry, I should have used the picture of him sleeping from the last entry. He sleeps so much that I wanted to see if others his age are doing the same. I found that 16% of five month olds have three naps (implying most babies have two)...our boy has four. These naps range anywhere between 45 mins - 2 1/2 hours with one hour being the norm. Just blogging this so I don't forget. :)

More 4 Month Pictures

I've been loading pictures from the camera to the computer so here's just a few more pictures at 4 months.

Elijah quickly grew out of the Halo Sleep Sacks and a friend recommended the Woombie. He constantly eats his hands so the Woombie works great and he sleeps so well in it.

Love you buddy!

Wearing those Gopher colors proudly...haha.

Elijah got sick after Christmas. You can see his nose full of snot...poor kid.

Playing with his o-ball.

Loves playing catch with dad.

Still playing catch.

Baseballl!

Doesn't he look like a ball player?

6th Player on the Court

As you can tell from this entry, I am athletic and ask really good sports questions. When watching sports with Dave, I always like to ask if I could make an impact if I were playing in the game. For example, lets say we are watching the Timberwolves, the conversation would go something like this:

Me: Do you think I could score 2 points or prevent points being the 6th player on the court?
Dave: No. They are way too athletic, you have no skills, too short, etc.
Me: Really? What if I played the whole game?
Dave: No.
Me: Really? What if I just waited underneath the basket for them to throw me the ball?
Dave: Still, no.
Me: What if I was the 6th player in a men's college game?
Dave: No.
Me: What about the WNBA?
Dave: No.
Me: What about a women's college game?
Dave: No.
Me: What about a high school game?
Dave: No one would want to pass it to you.

At different times in my life, I've also asked about baseball and football. Same types of answers. I still think I could score points in the NBA (I know I don't have basketball skills). I hope Elijah asks his dad these types of questions and lets see how dad replies. :)

Snack of the Week: Part XVI (I Heart Snacks)

I'm surprised it took 16 entries of "Snack of the Week" to finally mention Haagen-Dazs. I was sure I did previously but it doesn't look like it. Love this ice cream. Very creamy and delicious. It was tough to rate my top four but here they are in order:

1. Strawberry
2. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
3 (tie). Vanilla Swiss Almond or Coffee

Honorable Mention:
5. Butter Pecan
6. Pistachio
I've been craving this ice cream lately for some reason. My wonderful husband went out and got me a pint and I will enjoy it this week.

Playing Catch

Dave would rather play catch than play softball..he loves to throw the ball around. Elijah loves to play catch too.

(I wish I could upload more videos but it's sooooo slow)

Watch the video in mute.

Difference of Opinion

Whenever I say how old Elijah is, it comes out wrong and it really bothers Dave. For example, I say, "Elijahhhh, do you know how old you are???? You're 4 months year old." I'm used to saying 1 year old, 2 year old, etc. so I add "old" after.

Dave says I sound uneducated...I say, misunderstood.

Too Cool

I think this picture is funny. It looks like he's saying something like, "That's right, I'm a big guy, sitting in my own chair. I'm too cool for those toys. Give me some real food, none of this breast milk anymore." After Elijah gets better from his cold or whatever he has, we'll have him try some rice cereal.

Sick Little Boy

Elijah got sick for the first time after Christmas. Today is Friday and the last Friday, he had a cough and you could hear the phlegm. He also has a stuffy nose. It's so sad to watch him be sick and not be his usual playful self. So helpless as a baby! He's still coughing and recovering so prayers would be appreciated.

If you are sick, please refrain from visiting Elijah. It's not worth getting him sick. :(

Lots of Laughs

I love Elijah's smiles and I love, love his laughs. It's so sweet and precious. About a week ago, Dave was talking about remodeling the bathroom to Elijah and I. Dave looked at Elijah and said in a playful voice, "20 amp circuit breaker....are you kidding meeeeee?". The kid not only smiled but laughed to a point where it was kind of ridiculous. Of course Dave kept repeating his question to Elijah and Elijah just kept laughing. I hope I don't forget stuff like this and this is part of the reason why I blog!

26 Pictures of Cuteness

I love it when Elijah smiles and giggles - absolutely priceless. He loves the changing table and being naked. The boy would not stop smiling. :) When it came down to deciding which pictures to print, I printed them all because it's way too cute...at least we think so.

Update: This may be an annoying post if you're not an E-man fan like we are. :)
