Nathan -- No Better Way to Travel in Winter

Hymn Festival of Light

Sunday afternoon we rode with Matt and Allison (with Nathan) to Sebewaing for an Epiphany hymn festival hosted at Immanuel. The real impetus behind it was Ruth Meyer who played the organ and led a choir in which Rebecca sang. It was a lovely event. It also gave the mothers chance to spend a little time. Ruth got to see Nathan. And, of course, both Ruth and Rebecca are expecting again within days of each other. I got a cute picture of Emma looking over her daddy's shoulder too.

Lutheran Service Book

Had a quick trip to St. Louis this week...in the midst of fighting off a cold, but plenty of paper work. In this picture, Bill Heide, Orange, CA.; Phil Magness, Naperville, IL, Mary Mountford, Houston, and Jim Lowitzer, Memphis. Great folks!

Ice Big Time

A notable ice storm came through here Thursday night and wiped out power to about 50,000 customers in the tri-city area--including us--or me, I should say because Sue was at Wolf's where all was warm. Winter has finally arrived with teeth. The blue sky yesterday and the crystal ice everywhere made it beautiful, however. Photos don't really capture it. You can dream of spring, however, right?

Nonchalance

Someone --I think-- is already a little blasé over all this attention. We know we are adorable. We are the reigning "American Idol" Ho-hum.

"More pictures? Well... if you must."

Hmmm... the Ham Bone's Connected to the ...?

Last Friday, Joe-- from Joe's -- came to install a new log set for our fire place. One little leak turned into a brand new set. Shortly thereafter the van went in for repair which became repairs. It's a law of the universe that a car can never have just one thing wrong with it. I attempted to apply the "Reed Theory of Mechanical Healing" but it didn't work this time.

Day Two and Even Better

Sleepy-head, from head to foot. Doesn't seem fair one little person gets plenty of sleep, and two big people get little... but they don't seem to mind. Allison (and Matt) go home with Nathan Saturday. Good reports all around.

What Can You Say?

Nathan was born Thursday morning, February 9, a testament to God's goodness and the wonder of life. He is a sweet child... and everyone is well, happy, and grateful. His mom and dad can't wait for you all to see him in person.

Meet the Wolf Family

Adoring Dad and Mom

Do you suppose they've been waiting this day? The last couple of days, these parents went out to dinner and then to a show as a farewell to..... what was it? --Never mind. We'd never go back.

Not Only Hair - but Styled

The nurses were asking just who Nathan had as his stylist. Look closely and the dark hair is tinted as though highlighted. With all the pictures being taken, I guess he has to look good. Emma was excited to see the baby too. Good practice.

Love to the Wolfs from Your Grandson, Nathan

If wishes alone could bring them, we wish Nathan's Grandpa and Grandma Wolf could wisk across from Milwaukee--but they will be here for the celebration of Nathan's baptism soon. These photos are for them. Can you see any recognition of the "Wolf" chin?

We are all very excited for Matt and Allison. The day is literally just around the corner. The next posting will be entirely different. Stay tuned.

Grandpa!

Emma and I had a very good time Monday. We went to get the oil changed in the van, read the book "Muncha, muncha, muncha!" and other things. Grandpa is fun, but using a land line when one is accustomed to cell phones appears a bit regretable. I mean, "Really, Grandpa."

Same State -- Much Quieter

We had our SuperBowl party up at the Block's house north of Midland. The game was being played a hundred miles south. Much nicer up here. They have thirty acres like this.
