Steve's 60th

Big bash at VanTol's to celebrate Steve's 60th.  Here he is with Shayne Dumka, their Lion's Youth Exchange student from Queensland, Australia.

Past Work

It took me a day and a half of raking to get all the leaves and needles out to the curb, and it took the new monster leaf vacuum the city now uses a minute and a half to suck up the whole of it.  Finished just in time.

Lacy now can see where she's "going."

Not In Calendar Sequence

I know this was from a couple months ago, but this is what Nathan, Leah, Matt, and I witnessed at Arlington in October.

Sue's Famous Broasted Chicken

You'll just have to ask her for the recipe.  She may not tell you because it's surely to be a closely guarded secret.  So, you'll just have to imagine the bouquet of these succulent, tender, perfectly seasoned pullet pilings.  I have survived 40 years remember.

Festive

I think we have the most colorful block (which is only two houses wide) in town.  Gordie has outdone himself this year.  He's the only guy I know that can really make strings of lights look good in trees.  Ed, next door, has a beautiful nativity.

Then, there's our place.  We love how the tree shows up in the front window.  Merry Christmas!

Emma's Lego Debut

Congratulations to Emma and her Lego Knights team. I'm not sure the final ranking, but they hovered all day somewhere between 15th and 18th place out of about 35 teams. Jeremy is their coach and inspiration. You can see how jacked up he is. It was a great event.

Family Recital

The talent just oozes, doesn't it? If sweet to God's ear, that's sufficient.

Please notice that it is Jacob who carries the melody. Nathan is the equivalent of percussion, and with Leah directing, how could it miss?   If you're not weeping by the end, there's something wrong with you.
