Young Women Sailing Activity

This has been our theme for the Young Men and Young Women this year.

The Hendersons were gracious enough to offer the Young Women a second sailing experience.

The girls had fun sailing and discussing the symbolism of sailing and comparing it to our theme.

The girls were able to sail for an hour and a half.

The weather was beautiful and there were lots of smiles.

After sailing, the girls helped fold the sails.

They headed up to the house for pizza, fresh veggies, and root beer.  Sister Henderson shared a poem with us and the girls had a discussion about the meaning of the poem.  They concluded that if we keep focused on where we want to go, we can use the wind to help us reach our goal instead of blowing us off course.
I love working with these amazing Young Women and the fantastic leaders. Thanks Leisa for the amazing pictures!

New Carpet

Finally the new carpet has been installed in the basement apartment.

Ellie was excited to show me just how comfortable the carpet is.

Adeline had to join in the fun too!

Love these fun little girls!

The room was now set up for the reception.

My two handsome brothers, Scott and Bill.

I had to get a photo with Holly.  She was a beautiful bride.

Holly picked up Cohen and spun around dancing with him - such fun!

Cohen did such an awesome job as the ring bearer. After the wedding he changed from his tux to this cute shirt, "Chicks Dig A Ring Bearer!"

A very beautiful and tired Holly at the end of the reception.  Good Luck Holly and Brad! We wish you many years of happiness.

Weekend Trip To Ohio

Friday, I flew to the Cincinnati airport, which is actually in Kentucky. My niece, Holly was getting married and I flew in a day early to help with the set up for the reception.

The Ohio River from the air.

I picked up my rental car and headed to the hotel.

The hotel room was clean, but outdated.

It was also in need of repair.

The bathroom was really in bad shape.

I thought the tile or grout or caulk should meet up with the toilet and bathtub, but evidently not.

The shower head needed a dip in lime away.

And the drain (shivers).  It was clean and cheap, but . . .
Next time I think I would rather spend more money.
The weekend was fun! I was busy enjoying time with family members that I don't get to see often so I didn't really spend much time in my room.  For that I am truly grateful.
Next up will be blog posts about the rehearsal, decorating, the wedding, and reception.

Adeline Supervises Papa

Adeline loves sitting on the tractor and the lawn tractor and "driving".
One evening, she noticed Papa on her tractor.

She is very good about staying back when the tractor is in operation.

She did get off of the steps, but didn't go any closer.

I think she just wanted to make sure Papa was doing the job correctly.
