Snowy Weekend

Snow was predicted for the weekend.  Gary and I went out Saturday morning and the snowplows were assembling in parking lots ready to go to work.

Snow started Saturday evening.  They said the snow on Saturday was "bonus" snow and that the big snow would be on Sunday.

Sunday morning we awoke to a winter wonderland.  Church was cancelled.

We could see it had drifted a little bit.

I love the snow in the trees.

Time for sledding

It had changed from snow to freezing rain/sleet.

Tony and Gary got out the shovels.

Isla loves being on the sleds.

Gary put a pork shoulder in the smoker.

The cars, sidewalks, and driveway was clear.

Then, it started snowing again.

It was still coming down as we went to bed Sunday evening and school was cancelled for Monday.

Tony had to go to work, so Gary did the clearing on Monday.

It was easier since they had cleared the day before.

The rain on Sunday had melted some of the Saturday snow, but we ended up with about 7 inches of snow.

So quiet and beautiful.

Snow covered deck.

I love the sun shining through the trees.

The girls went sledding again.

I make sure there is hot chocolate ready when everyone comes in from their snow fun.

It was a beautiful snowy weekend.

Friday Night Fun

We have so much fun with the girls.

They enjoy coming upstairs and playing, performing, etc.

Isla likes to dress up like a chef.

She loves playing with the kitchen

She thinks she is one of the big girls now.

Abby joined in the fun too.

She is serious about taking her customers' orders.

Time for some poses for the camera.

Love these girls!

Late Christmas

So Denise and I finally got together to exchange our Christmas gifts.  She got me these awesome journals.  She thought I would have fun doing them with my granddaughters.  It will be fun.

Denise loves snow, snow days, snow ice cream, snow, snow days, . . .
So when I saw this, I knew I had to get it for her. It is a snow day kit from Justin Berk, a local meteorologist.  I knew it would be perfect for her.  She absolutely loved it.

We also had dinner at Panera.
It is fun to spend time with a good friend and catch up.

Everyday Life

A beautiful sunrise on the way to school.

Isla loves Elmo.  I found this puppet book we had.

She was so excited.  She was hugging and kissing Elmo.

Gary made a yummy dinner with some pork cubes.  He added peppers, onions, mushrooms, and mandarin oranges. We served it on a bed of rice and had some green beans.  It was delicious.  Abby said he should make it again.

Me and my Ellie.

Sarah, Isla and I went to our Relief Society meeting.

It was at Dixie Ely's home and we talked about organizing ourselves and our homes.

I love being able to spend time with my Relief Society sisters!

First Weekend in January

Izzy went to her first church dance on Friday January 4.

Isla decided she likes banana, at least a few bites.

Isla got a new book

Baby Shark

It sings the song too.

She was mesmerized!

Adeline was happy to share in the excitement! Really, the did like the book.

Gary cooked two chickens in the smoker. He stuffed them with apples and nuts. They were delicious.

Adeline made her wreath with her mommy.

The Aina girls' wreaths.

Izzy came over after church on Sunday.

Isla loved having Izzy read to her.

We went to check out the progress on the Aina home.

The first floor walls are almost done.

Susie and Scott enjoyed a bike ride in Indiana and sent us this picture of their adventure.

Baby Shark Do Do Do Do Do

Isla loves watching the video of the song and dancing along.
