Enjoying The Last Days of Summer

The girls like to join us on the porch swing.

Finally Isla let Sarah put her hair in pigtails and she kept them in.

Fun on the glider with Ge-ma

This girl loves to cook and serve us all sorts of fancy dishes.

We are often told, "Too hot, don't touch!"

Be right back

Snuggle selfie time

One last summer lunch at Ledos

The girls enjoy going out to lunch and Ledos has been a favorite this summer.

Isla enjoys posing for pictures too.

Adeline is hit or miss with photos. Either she wants in the photo or she tries to hide or look grumpy.

Gary is holding the tree limb that fell and hit his truck during the night.

Outside fun!

Tired girl

What big eyes you have

Snack time

Watching the stars come out.

Isla is finally starting to eat more.  Sometimes she has two breakfasts, one with us and then one with her family.

Adeline wanted to learn how to do a big puzzle.  I taught her how to sort out the border pieces.

Then she filled in the middle.

There was one missing border piece. Little sister makes it harder to do a puzzle.

Then it was no more fun smiles from Adeline.
We've had a great time this summer.

Open House

Since the Ainas will be moving into their new home soon, they are starting at a new school.   It is a much bigger school too.
Abby is a fifth grader.

Ellie is a second grader.

Adeline is a kindergartener.

Izzy is home schooled, so she helped me with my Open House, by photographing my students in a Cat in The Hat photo booth.  Then we went to Cafe Rio.

Family History

Our Relief Society met one evening at St. John's Cemetery to photograph gravestones.

Using the app Billion Graves, we photographed and uploaded every gravestone in the cemetery.

The next step is to transcribe the information on the gravestones.  Then family members who are searching for the ancestors can find the information from the gravestones and see an actual picture of the gravestone.  Another app called Find A Grave does the same thing.  It is exciting to be able to see the actual gravestones of our ancestors and it was fun to make this opportunity available for others too.

Pedicures

My friend, Denise and I like to go for pedicures.

We met the Saturday before school to get our toes ready for back to school.

Ahhhh, it is good to pamper ourselves and catch up with one another.

Ready for Open House

I made a school wreath for my classroom door.

The Cat in The Hat Wreath is on the inside of the door.

The school wreath is on the outside of the door.

Izzy was my helper setting up my classroom again this year.

I am back in the building which means I have a larger classroom and more storage space.

We set up a photo booth and Izzy photographed each of my students

I'm not sure if the classroom will stay in this set up or if I will make changes as we see how it works when the students are actually working in the room.

The school was painted this summer, so we are limited with putting things on the walls for a little while so the paint can cure.

Each classroom has a yellow accent wall.

Still trying to get everything set up.

More boxes to unpack, they delivered our student math and reading consumables.

The bottom cubbies are for the students coats and book bags. The top cubbies are teacher storage.

Photo booth is ready for Open House.

I only have 15 students so far this year.

I have a special education inclusion classroom and the Special Education teacher will be co-teaching with me part of the day.

Ready for the new school year to begin!
