Snow Day Fun

We had three snow days in January.

I love looking at the snow,

but I am personally ready for spring now.

The girls had fun

Liz sent this cute photo of Izzy.

Not sure why all the photos Sarah sent me look like they are videos.

So try to ignore the icon in the middle of the photos.

Snow!

We've had some fun snowy days.  The little girls love playing in the snow.

Ellie and I spend some time coloring too.

Izzy and I at Young Womens for the last time. I was released as the YW first counselor and called to teach in Relief Society.  I sure will miss the girls, but I am looking forward to my new calling and working with the adult women.  I haven't been in Relief Society for years so it will be a nice change.

They evening was talking about baby sitting.

Each girl created a babysitting kit with ideas for activities to do with the children they are baby sitting.

It started to snow after I got home.

We had a snow day!

I love it when I don't have to get out in the snow and go to work.

After my knee replacement last year, the last thing I want to do is fall and injury myself.

It was a beautiful snow.

The birds were hanging out at the bird feeders.

The wind caused lots of snow drifting.

It even blew snow into the screened porch.

I like just staying inside, reading a good book or grading papers, coloring or playing a game with my granddaughters, or watching a movie or M*A*S*H marathon with Gary.

Christmas

Merry Christmas! We had a quiet morning while the Kissels and Ainas had their own family Christmas.

The Ainas joined us for Breakfast Casserole and Coffee Cake. The Coffee Cake is one my mom made. We always had it for Christmas and Easter morning.

Isla enjoyed some breakfast casserole.  She is really interested in food now.

Tammy took a picture of the cute Christmas tree they took to the cemetery.  Dad, Mom, and my sister Sally Ann are all three buried there.  Thanks for the picture Tammy.

Then it was time for the fun to begin.

We opened stockings and then the girls sorted the gifts from under the tree.

Izzy, Abby, Ellie, and Adeline took turns opening gifts.

Then it was Isla's turn.

The Kissels enjoyed watching Isla too.

Tony received some musical gifts, a melodica, an Otomatone, and a Cajon

There were lots of squeals, boxes, and happy people.

Sometimes they stopped unwrapping to check out a fun gift.

Isla enjoyed Izzy's Panda.

She is getting so grown up!

We had a ham dinner too.

I didn't take many pictures of the kids with their gifts, but everyone had a fun time.
The rest of the break was pretty quiet.  I battled a sinus infection and just rested most of the days.  I did some reading too.  It was a much needed restful break.

More December Fun

Turkey soup is always yummy on a cold day.

Ellie was thrilled to get to sort through old pens and markers to pick out which ones still work and which ones we need to throw away.

Adeline is quick with a smile and a joy.

Snow and fog on the playground one morning.

Ellie and Adeline helped clean out and organize the chip/snack cabinet.

Ellie and Adeline coloring while I grade papers.

Ellie made a paperbag gingerbread house in kindergarten.

Ms. Mingo slid into place as we were taking our staff picture on ugly sweater day.

We took another shot after she turned around.
I love the amazing people I work with.

Beautiful sunrise out the dining room window.

The Aina family ready for their annual Christmas Caroling to friends and neighbors.

Isla teasing Mommy, acting like she is drinking a Mt. Dew.
