Coloring with Addie

Addie's has been so excited lately because she has learned to color in the lines. With that skill came the realization that since green is her favorite color she really doesn't need anything else. These are some of her most recent pictures (If you can't tell this is from her Tinkerbell coloring book)
The other day Addie decided that Tinkerbell had yellow hair so maybe she should color that differently but then she told me that if she did that everything else had to be green.

My favorite though was the other day as I was coloring next to her, I asked her what color I should use on the rabbit. She looked at my picture that had the different color flowers and everything else and said, "You know, you can never have too much green mom."

Liam gets so excited when he watches us eat that I finally gave in and decided to start him on rice cereal. He doesn't always look sure of himself and he hasn't quite figured out how to keep it in his mouth but he always opens up for more so I guess he likes it.

Fun Playing

With Demzi's birthday e have new toys around to play with. Addie and Demzi both have been having tons of fun. Demzi got a play kitchen set so they have been playing house a lot. They love to cook and clean and then take their babies on walks.

They've been sitting on this dog and pretending that it is taking them wherever it is that they are going.

I love this face, she is trying not to smile at me.

Kris's sister gave this coloring thing to Demzi. She loves how the markers sing, they sat at the table and colored like this for an hour, that's a record for Demzi.

Demzi's Birthday Part! (party 1 of 3)

Since it was too difficult to find a time when both sides of the family could get together for Demzi's birthday she lucked out and got three parties this year. They were really just cake and ice cream and presents but she got one with Kris's family, my family, and then on her actual birthday.

This is Demzi's first party with my family. Scott was just as excited for Demzi's birthday as she was and wanted to help her unwrap every present.

This was from Erin and Jay. Demzi saw this big dog and got so excited, "Puppy!"

Getting to blow out the candle.
Finally getting some cake and ice cream.

Demzi's Birthday Party (party 2 of 3)

This was on Demzi's birthday, we just had cupcakes and presents that day so that it felt like it was birthday still.

Demzi's Birthday Party (Party 3 of 3)

This is Demzi's party with Kris's family. At this point she knew exactly what to do.

We were having a hard time getting the candle to light because of the wind so at one point Kris told her to blow it out when it wasn't lit. Not to be tricked, Demzi looked at him and said, "It's broken."

Yep That's Me

So much catch up to do but I had to post this because I thought it was funny. Getting the girls ready tends to be a little dramatic around here. Addie hates having her hair done and usually starts crying how bad it's going to hurt before I start. Yesterday I brought her in my room to do her hair and she held her head and started screaming, "It hurts! It hurts! Don't do it! You're the Sea Witch!" I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry, regardless Addie ended up in her room, but really...where did that come from?

Trip to the Aquarium

A few weeks ago we decided to take the kids to the aquarium. Addie has been asking to go see fish and Demzi even got more into it this time so it was tons of fun.

Demzi and Addie both loved the touch tank. Addie would say she wanted to touch the fish and then admit that she was really too scared. Demzi didn't care about the fish, she just wanted to splash....a lot....figuring that wasn't the best for the fish we couldn't stay there very long.
Liam spent most of his time in the stroller but was still content and happy to be there.
The girls loved the new penguin display. We sat and watched them diving off the rocks and then swimming right in front of us. They also had the different kinds of penguins on the wall to see how you measure up. Addie and Demzi both stood in front of the emperor penguin.

Liam is just about as big as a Rockhopper penguin. (Doesn't he look happy to be there?)

Kite Flying

The other day we decided to take our kite to Kris's parent's and fly it with the girls. It was a perfect day for it. Addie loved twirling underneath it and just watching it fly.
She also did a good job holding on to it.

Demzi really wasn't that interested in the kite. She wanted to swing or play in the gardent the whole time.
She did figure out that it was pretty funny to grab the kite....
...then throw it and make dad chase after it.
After getting bored with the kite Addie decided to sit and talk to her friend in the garden.
Horrible mom that I am, I started laughing when Demzi got the mulch in her shoes and took a picture of her face before deciding to help her out.

Really?

Yes I took a picture of chapstick but it just made me laugh. The other day when I was cleaning up lunch I noticed that Demzi had been dipping her chips in her chapstick. I guess that's what you get when you give a two year old chocolate flavored chapstick.
