Benson Vacation Day 2-Ogden Dinosaur Park and Hill Air Force Base Museum

The day after Lagoon we left our hotel and headed to Ogden to visit the dinosaur park up there. It's been a while since we've gone and we thought the kids would have fun. My kids loved it, Tad is still a little obsessed with dinosaurs and Harvey seems to really like them too these days.

We walked around and looked at the different statues and then let the kids play on the playground and visit the education center.

There was a guy working behind the window and it was fascinating to watch. He was explaining as he chipped out little pieces of rock on a turtle vertibrae that he'd been working on for a week. He didn't get very far before he had to glue a piece and then he was done for the day. Such a painstaking job, I can't believe the amount of patience it takes.

We even recreated the group pictures from when we were there with his family seven years before.

After we had seen everything we loaded up the car, went to get lunch and then ended our day at the Hill Aerospace Museum.
The kids liked walking around and looking at all the different airplanes and helicopters. Addie was even reading about the different ones and when they were used. We spent an hour or so at the museum and then we all loaded up to go our separate ways. At this point I think the exhaustion of the last two days was finally catching up to us and everyone was ready to take a break, and sleep a little in the car. It was such a great vacation. We love to be able to spend time with our Benson family.

Benson Vacation Day 1-Lagoon

This was our year to go to Lagoon with Kris's family. The kids look forward to this each time we go. I think it gets more and more fun the older they get. We got there so we could start right when it opened. We started out together and did the rides that all the kids could do.

The older kids were having lots of fun trying all the different rides but Harvey wasn't convinced that he liked any of the rides that he tried. I kept taking him with me hoping we'd find something that he liked. He ended up liking a few of the driving ones, maybe the Whales wasn't the best one for him to start on.
After a while we split into two groups with the big kids going to do roller coasters and the little kids staying in the smaller kids area. I was able to go with the big kids and thought it was so much fun. I forget how much I like roller coasters. I was feeling pretty proud of myself at the end of the day. At the beginning of the day Addie and Demzi had agreed to do the spider,  but at the end I'd gotten them on The Spider, Wicked, and Colossus. Still no Cannibal but seeing how they liked all of the ones they did try I have hope that when we go again in a couple years they'll do it.

We ended staying pretty much until close. We were all pretty exhausted by they time we headed to the hotel but the kids loved it.

Demzi's Baptism

Demzi was baptized on June 4. We are so proud of her and the choice she made to be baptized. It was such a special day.

We are so blessed to have our families live so close and have everyone be able to come out and support her.

Family Art Day

The first Friday in June was family art day at BYU. I'd never heard of this before but we decided, on a whim, to go with some friends. It was so much fun, there was tons for the kids to do there.  They had art projects for the kids, and different learning areas. When we first walked in each of the kids were given a brochure that they could get stamped at each station.

Each of the kids got to meet Cosmo too.

We really had fun but we were very unprepared for how long it would be. We thought we'd go for an hour and then come home. About two hours in the kids decided they needed to get ALL of the stamps and have their faces painted. So by the time we finished it was almost 1 and everyone was tired and hungry. So, we headed to the cougar eat to finish our excursion with a little lunch.  Such a fun day! We were glad we were able to go

Soccer

Liam decided to do soccer again this year. He wasn't sure at first but as soon as he heard Matt was coaching he was excited. His team was really good this year too so it was fun to see them win some games.

He had tons of fun playing, mostly because he liked goofing off with Lola. He was fully committed to playing next year until he found out he wouldn't be on Lola's team (next year is the age they split boys and girls) and then he decided he'll just try something new

This is Addie's third year playing soccer. It takes a little bit to remember at the first of the season everything from before but she's starting to get really good.

She loves to be on the same team as Zoe, too.

I really liked her coach this year. They seemed to get a lot better this year and even won a few games which is a first for us.
