We were all excited for our first snow of the season. We got our snow stuff on first thing and headed out to play. Liam asked me to help make a snowman but it really wasn't good packing snow. We decided we would do the best we could with what we had. The results were miniature.

Halloween
The morning of Halloween we got everyone in costumes and out the door to school. Then Liam and I headed to Addie's school to watch the Halloween parade. Liam was not too thrilled to be there. Tad wasn't either, unfortunately and screamed the entire time. After I saw Addie walk by I hurried out to see if I could get Tad to fall asleep in the car on the way to Demzi's school
Demzi was able to go to the Greenwood Manor and do a little trick or treating. Once again, Liam was able to participate which makes having to tag a long a little more bearable. (Demzi had to switch costumes from her initial plan. She had wanted to be a princess and we got her a costume that she wore to the Thompson Halloween party. Within an hour that costume had fallen apart. The fabric had frayed at all of the seams so we returned it and couldn't find anything we liked. Lucky for us she was super excited to be a cat.)
After school Kris got home early and carved pumpkins with the kids. Then Kris took them around trick or treating. It was a nice low key Halloween and my kids had tons of fun. Kris said they even went up to the door and trick or treat this year, one of these days my kids will not be so shy that that terrifies them.
Addie's First Loose Tooth
Addie FINALLY lost a tooth. She kept coming home from school and telling me how many of her friends had already lost a tooth or one of her friends had lost five and Adelaide wanted to know why she hadn't lost any yet. I told her now that she lost one she should try and not tell anyone and see if they noticed but when she got home from school she told me she told everyone on the bus, a little excited much?
She came in to the kitchen and was showing me how loose her tooth was and could pull it all the way forward. I told her she should try and push it back toward her tongue. She said, "Like this? Oh" and then handed me her tooth. She was so excited she ran and got a paper to write a note to the tooth fairy. She told the tooth fairy how it really hurt to lose a tooth and how she wanted the tooth fairy to bring her some coins.
It has started a whole new trend at our house. Every now and again Liam will put his finger in his mouth and say, "Mom this tooth wiggles." or Demzi has added asking, "When will I get my first loose tooth?" to "How much longer until I can ride a bus like Addie?" Oh the joy of older siblings.

Benson Family Halloween Party
We were in charge of planning the Benson Halloween party this year. It worked out better to hold it at Kris's parents' house so we brought all of our party stuff down there.
We started out with cookie decorating. The older kids were actually making faces on their pumpkins. I think Demzi's goal was to see how much sugar she could pile on there. She was grabbing that purple sugar by the hand full. Liam still doesn't really get why we decorate cookies. He was just dipped the candy in the frosting and eating it off. I don't think he took a single bite of the cookie itself.
After decorating the cookies we did some face painting and spooky pictures. It was fun to see what kind of faces everyone pulled and the effect with their painted faces.
After we painted faces we headed to the high school and played laser tag in the basement. I thought it all turned out and the kids had tons of fun.

Fire Station
Just before Halloween Demzi's preschool class went on a field trip to the fire station. They started out watching a little safety video and then they took them on a tour of the station. Showing them the truck and all the tools inside. One of the firemen even got completely outfitted in their suit for them. Liam was just as excited about this field trip as Demzi. He lined up with the class and sat with them. I had him come with me when it was time for the group picture but they were nice enough to let him sit up there after. I think Liam talks about that every other day, asking when we'll go see more fire trucks. It might have started a bit of an obsession with him.
Crazy Hair Day
For crazy hair day I gave Addie a bun mowhawk. She was not so much amused. She seems to like the idea of crazy hair day but doesn't appreciate it when I make her hair actually crazy. She reminded me all week long what day crazy hair day was but when she saw her hair that morning her direct quote was, "It just looks crazy! And everyone is going to think I am crazy!"
Some of Tad
In an effort to get Tad to eat more food I gave him his own Gogurt. I don't know if I would call it so much a success, but he sure enjoyed it. I think i found the perfect teether.
Cornbelly's
Over fall break my parents took all the grand kids to Cornbelly's. My kids had so much fun we went back after Kris got home from work so they could play some more.
We started at this big slide and my kids went over and over. The funny thing is Demzi was TERRIFIED at first. I had to carry her up with me, and then I sat her down next to me while I was taking Tad. She wanted nothing to do with it, but as soon as she got to the bottom all she wanted to do was go over and over.
The nice thing about having all of us there was that we kind of divided and conquered. Liam, Demzi and Tad were with me while Addie went with Aspen, Zoe and grandma where they wanted to go. Liam loved all the play boats and tractors. At one point I lost him and it was all I could do not to go into panic mode. He was playing on this little wooden train after lunch and while I sat at the front waiting for him to come back out he had seen something else he wanted to do and wandered off. I'm sure it wasn't that long but it felt like forever until I found him sitting in the big green tractor that he had been pointing to and wanting to play on all day.
Tad did well overall considering he missed his naps to hang out here. He liked crawling back and forth on the toys too.
At one point I put Tad down in this big pile of pumpkins and he came out carrying this stem in his hands. He carried this with him for a super long time.
After playing half the day there we decided to take a break and came back again when Kris got home. We played there again for a couple hours. I didn't realize how much there was to do there, we could have easily spent another day there. It was so much fun.
