Shortly after Liam's first wiggly tooth the one next to it started to wiggle. For a few days it really bothered him and he was sure that he needed to get it out right that second. But then he'd wiggle and pull and it wouldn't give so we both kind of forgot about it.
Then one day he wanted to show me his new tooth. The permanent tooth was already growing in but pretty far back by his tongue which is why the other one wasn't getting more wiggly. It was crazy how far back it was.
By the time he finally got the baby tooth out his permanent one was pretty much completely in. With the baby tooth out it has started to gradually be pushed forward too.

Bryce Canyon Trip
We planned a little getaway over Thanksgiving break to Bryce Canyon. We left Friday morning getting to the park around 2. We started out at the visitor's center. The kids loved playing with all of the interactive displays.
While we were there we planned out the rest of our visit. We decided to drive to a few of the lookouts and take it pretty easy and then do the hikes in the morning. Of course this was the time that Harvey finally gave in and took a nap so he missed the first couple of spots.
It was a lot icier than I expected. Even though we weren't hiking there was one lookout that had three different viewing areas and on the way to the top one we saw a few people fall pretty hard which made me nervous (especially since Tad's idea of a careful walk was a cross between a hop and a skip) but the kids all did fine and it was really pretty.
After finishing up in the park for the day we grabbed dinner, headed to our hotel and let the kids swim. Our plan was to start early the next morning, finish up the lookouts and do a few hikes. After the hikes we were going to head to St George to meet up with Kris's family. Unfortunately Tad started throwing up in the middle of the night. We waited around the hotel hoping that whatever it was would be short lived and we could still finish out our trip. He was so miserable. He couldn't keep anything down.
We finally decided that we should at least do the lookouts since we were there, we'd skip the hikes and see how he was feeling when it came time to drive somewhere.
We finished all the lookouts and he was still feeling super sick and now had a fever, so we called the rest of the trip a bust and headed home so we wouldn't have to do it all again in another hotel room.
All in in all it was an exciting trip. Bryce canyon was pretty, and it would be nice to go back again when we could do some hikes and I think they all had fun, even though Tad was sick he at least had fun the day before.
Happy Birthday Tad
Tad's birthday fell on Thanksgiving this year so we opted to celebrate a day early so it would actually feel more like his birthday. I cannot believe he his already five. He was so excited for his birthday. He has been asking for roller blades for months.
Some things about Tad:
Knows all his letters and starting to blend sounds
Still my pickiest eater, we battle daily over dinner, I always worry about him gaining enough weight since he is so skinny but he continues to follow the 5% curve line on the charts.
Favorite food: spaghetti and meatballs
Favorite movie: Star Wars
Favorite colors: Blue, green and red
Favorite book: There's An Alligator Under my Bed
Favorite Thing to do: Play with friends, play Wii and play soccer
Happy birthday Tad!
We got him a set that you could start out with skates and then change out the wheels when they got better. He lasted five minutes on the skates before he asked us to switch them. We tried to convince them that they were going to be harder but he was insistent. Right after he got them on he fell and said, "You were right! These are harder!" But after that he has worked and worked and gotten really good at them.

Thompson Family Pictures
For my parents birthday this year we gave them an extended family picture session again. I think the last time we did this Tad was only one so it was time to get some updated pictures. Our group is too big to do it in studio so we went to a park and had them done there. I think they turned out really cute. I'm surprised how cooperative all of the kids were. Each family got their own pictures and then we did all the other groupings.
.
Our session was 90 minutes and towards the end we were all (maybe just the adults) getting a little silly. We were doing the sibling pictures and she told us to look at each other which turned into laughing hysterically and almost crying.
