Addie's 7th Birthday!

Addie turned 7 on July 26th she has been telling me for the last month what she wanted for her birthday dinner and what she wanted to do that night.  We spent the day at the splash park and then came home and ordered pizza and watched a movie just like she requested.  Then it was time for presents.

Demzi and Liam really wanted to help me wrap her presents.  Come to find out those two can't keep a secret AT ALL.  The first thing Liam said when he got down stairs was, "Addie you're getting Lego Friends and a movie!"  But then Demzi ran up and whispered in her ear, "It's actually not a movie."  That's alright, she was excited anyway even if she wasn't surprised.

The next day we had Kris's family over for her Benson party.  We decided to set up my parents' water slide and let the kids play for a while.  It was somewhat short lived thanks to the rainy weather but the kids still had fun.  After the water slide we ate some dinner then it was time for presents.

She has been loving these Legos. She makes up games and plays them for hours.

Super excited to get her blanket from grandma.  Grandma put tied her's in stars all over.
She had asked for a Pinkalicious cupcake cake this year.  It wasn't exactly Pinkalicious but it was a giant cupcake and she loved it, so that's all that mattered.
The wind outside made it impossible to light these candles so after singing to her we made her pretend to blow them out.

Moore Family Reunion

This year for the Moore reunion we went to the pavilion by spring Lake and had some dinner and hung out with everyone.  They had rented a big bouncy slide for the kids which was a huge hit.  I barely saw my kids for three hours.

Our nephew was good enough to take Tad down.
He looks absolutely terrified.  Even at that though he seemed to want to go again after.

Second and third time still looking scared out of his mind, but always pointed to the top again that he wanted to go down.
So then Kris decided to send him on his own, this poor face.  Still not looking at all convinced that this is something he enjoys.
They put this nice bench up for Kris's grandparents' 100th birthdays on it was a plaque that said, "Alva and Maxine: 100 years of making Moore memories."  So they took a few group shots on the new bench.

Here are all the Moore kids
With spouses
And the grandkids that were able to make it to the reunion.

Playing on Spring Lake

A couple of Saturdays ago we decided to take our kids to Kris's parents and play on the lake.  We started out with all of us going around the lake on the paddle boat.

After the paddle boat the kids wanted to try the new kayak.  This one is small enough that they can do it on their own.  Kris was the back up in case anyone was stranded, which ended up being all of them.
Tad just sat in the paddle boat during everyone else's turns and crawled from seat to seat, something we wouldn't allow him to do while we were on the water.
Addie really could have made it back but she got all the way across and got tired so Kris pulled her back.
After her turn she REALLY wanted to jump in the lake.  I made her wait until Kris was back to watch her so I wouldn't be split between her and Tad.
Liam never got in the water but he liked dipping his toes in the water.
Tad's turn in the kayak was while Kris was following Demzi around the lake.
Demzi is funny.  Whatever she sees Addie do she has to do too.  I don't actually know if she could have made it back on her own but she paddled around a bit then gave up.  So Kris hauled her back too.
Liam never had a chance.  He barely made it a few feet away and then started yelling for help.  He had tons of fun though so that is all that really matters.
Addie finally made it in the water.  Turns out she is really weirded out by what could possibly be in the water.  Every time she touch the gross muddy ground she'd scream "Something's touching me!"  Over and over.  She was funny to watch because she was just stiff on top of the water.
Demzi also got in the water and swam right over to the Liam in the kayak.
After it was all over we walked back to Kris's parents' and sprayed them off.  They were grateful to have some nice warm cement to lay on afterward.

Happy Birthday to Me :)

My birthday was July 8th.  I have amazing family and spent the day celebrating.   Starting with lunch at my parents while the kids played.  Then later I was able to pick Kris up from work where we headed to City Creek to eat some Red Iguana.  Follow that up with some Cold Stone cupcakes and we have ourselves a party.  Tad is still obsessed with fire so he was more than happy to blow out my candle for me.

4th of July at Grandma and Papa's

After the neighborhood parade we let Tad sneak a quick nap then headed to my parents' for some water slide fun.  The kids always have tons of fun playing on the water slide so I spent most of my time in the shade.

Tad crawled in the pool first thing which was unexpected.  He really thought he should be able to crawl right up there and was frustrated when it didn't work.
After the kids seemed to be done with water on the slide we hooked up our ball popper sprinkler.  We got this at the end of season last year as a clearance so the kids haven't gotten a lot of chances to play with it so they were very excited.

I love that Demzi and Addie were trying to crawl under the water.

Tad loves the sand! Once he was done with the water he spent the rest of his time playing over there and making huge messes.
Kris found a great way to cool off, dumping water on all of the kids.  That was the smart move.  By the end of the day even I ended up going down the water slide just to cool off.

Then it was lunch time.
After playing in the water the kids were excited to stand by the fire and roast their hot dogs.

Tad was spent at this point and ready to cuddle up on someone.  Whenever papa hold him he just lays on his shoulder and pats his back.

It was a great 4th.  Given our travels the day before we headed home after lunch and put the kids to bed at their normal time so as to catch up on some sleep.  We didn't even do fireworks but they didn't seem to mind.
